<br />City of Miami Beach Chase Avenue and 34th Street
<br />Shared Path - Provided surveying, civil engineering and
<br />landscape architecture services related to the new 10-foot
<br />shared use path which supports the use of simultaneous
<br />pedestrian and bicycle activity. The scope of services
<br />included topographic surveying, tree inventory, disposition
<br />and permitting; irrigation, landscape, hardscape and
<br />amenities design, site civil design development, permitting
<br />coordination, bidding assistance/contract administration and
<br />construction phase tasks including construction observation.
<br />Greater Boca Raton Beach and Parks District North
<br />Park Hills and Trails Design Services - Providing
<br />surveying, environmental, geotechnical, architectural, civil
<br />engineering, landscape architecture, lighting and permitting
<br />assistance services for the Site Plan Preparation, Design and
<br />Permitting of Phases 1 and 2 of the Northeast (Hills) and
<br />Southeast (Trails) quadrants of the proposed North Park.
<br />Town of Davie Parks and Recreation Master Plan
<br />(PRMP) - Miller Legg is preparing the Town of Davie’s
<br />first Parks and Recreation Master Plan. The Master Plan
<br />is a tool intended to help the Town of Davie meet the
<br />current and future recreational and cultural needs of this
<br />unique 35-square-mile community of 107,000 residents in
<br />central Broward County. The resident-driven plan serves
<br />as a source of applicable decision-making information
<br />and establishes clear goals and actionable objectives to
<br />guide staff, advisory committees, and Town Council in
<br />their work to maintain and enhance Davie’s system of 32
<br />parks, recreation and cultural facilities, including 165 miles
<br />of trail system. Public workshops and public online survey
<br />will assist in determining community recreation needs and
<br />desires. All parks and facilities will be reviewed, along with
<br />future expansion opportunities to accommodate program
<br />requirements over the next 10 years. In addition, Miller Legg
<br />will assist with the Town’s CAPRA accreditation.
<br />City of Coconut Creek Oak Trails Park Improvements
<br />- For this project under the firm’s Continuing Services
<br />Contract, Miller Legg is providing landscape architecture,
<br />planning, civil engineering, surveying and environmental
<br />services from initial design through construction. The purpose
<br />of this scope is to expand the existing five-acre passive park
<br />by incorporating two additional five-acre parcels, creating a
<br />10-acre expansion area. The project includes renovating an
<br />existing ±1,000 SF residential building into a nature center
<br />with classroom and restroom facilities. The project will
<br />pursue LEED certification while maintaining a $2.5 million
<br />budget, supported in part by Florida Communities Trust
<br />(FCT) grant funding. Proposed park amenities include water
<br />fountains, a multi-use trail, outdoor fitness equipment,
<br />picnic tables, a multi-purpose field, a butterfly garden, and
<br />one acre of native vegetation.
<br />for the alignment of the Western Extension of the existing
<br />Biscayne Everglades Greenway Trail (BEGT). The Study Area
<br />is from the C-103 Canal Crossing at East Mowry Drive to the
<br />192nd Avenue intersection with West Mowry Drive. Miller
<br />Legg’s scope comprises compilation of an existing conditions
<br />inventory, preparation of a matrix of criteria to use in the
<br />evaluation of the potential trail alignments, preparation of
<br />various preliminary alignment alternatives with Opinions
<br />of Probable Cost, development of a preferred alignment
<br />with location, typical design, proposed enhancements, right
<br />of way/property issues associated with implementation,
<br />potential property acquisitions, followed by creation of the
<br />Feasibility Report for presentation to the City Council. The
<br />Study was funded by an FDOT SUN Trail Grant.
<br />City of Fort Lauderdale Las Olas Streetscape Design
<br />- Designed each of the four districts to retain its individual
<br />identity, while simultaneously being part of a cohesive
<br />complete street design between Downtown Fort Lauderdale
<br />and The Beach. Responsible for planting design, placemaking
<br />and programming services, overhead shade structures,
<br />programming the pedestrian districts along the corridor
<br />which integrated hardscape design, seating design, and open
<br />space utilization, as well as multiple public outreach efforts
<br />including conceptual graphics and renderings to support
<br />meetings with homeowner association groups.
<br />City of Hallandale Beach Atlantic Shores Boulevard
<br />from US-1 / Federal Highway to Diplomat Parkway
<br />- This 1/4-mile milling and resurfacing project included
<br />enhancements along Atlantic Shores Boulevard between US
<br />1 and Diplomat Parkway. Enhancements included drainage,
<br />signage and pavement markings, signalization, lighting,
<br />landscaping and hardscape. Specific landscape architecture
<br />analysis and design services included landscape architecture
<br />and irrigation plans for the median islands, swales, parking
<br />islands/bulbouts, hardscape and a roundabout.
<br />City of Tamarac D/B Caporella Park Overflow Parking
<br />Lot - For the design/build Caporella Park improvement
<br />project, Miller Legg is providing landscape architecture
<br />and arborist services, civil engineering, permitting, and
<br />construction administration services for the overflow
<br />parking lot. Services include landscape architecture and
<br />irrigation design, tree removal, tree relocation and tree
<br />permitting. Other services include pre-design meetings,
<br />design review meetings, site investigation visits as well as
<br />coordination with other disciplines. Park amenities include
<br />an amphitheater, a picnic shelter, 4,000 SF playground, multi-
<br />purpose court, boat launch dock, fishing pier, splash pad,
<br />and shaded fitness station. Miller Legg is a subconsultant to
<br />Waypoint Contracting.
