<br />comfort, and strengthen multimodal connectivity. The effort
<br />focuses on creating a unified landscape framework through
<br />coordinated plant palettes, conceptual hardscape features,
<br />and gateway elements that reinforce a sense of place while
<br />accommodating transit, vehicular, bicycle, and pedestrian
<br />activity. The Master Landscape Concept aligns with ongoing
<br />and planned downtown revitalization efforts led by the City
<br />and Community Redevelopment Agency.
<br />City of Miami E.G. Sewell Park - Under contract with
<br />the City for program development, pre-design, master
<br />planning design, public involvement workshops, construction
<br />documents and construction administration services.
<br />The scope of services includes landscape architecture,
<br />environmental, civil engineering, topographical surveying,
<br />SUE, arborist, structural engineering, electrical engineering,
<br />geotechnical engineering, archeological, permitting, bidding
<br />assistance and limited construction administration.
<br />City of Coral Gables Ponce de Leon Streetscape
<br />Improvements - Providing landscape architecture,
<br />irrigation design, permitting assistance and construction
<br />phase services for the streetscape improvements along
<br />Ponce de Leon in Coral Gables. Scope of work includes
<br />removal of the existing 10 foot wide sidewalk and replace
<br />with a new 6 foot wide sidewalk. 4 foot wide planting areas
<br />will be placed intermittently between the sidewalk and back
<br />of curb. Replacement trees will be native Florida friendly
<br />shrubs and groundcover for the understory. All areas under
<br />the new sidewalk will be filled with structural soil and/or
<br />Silva cells.
<br />City of South Miami Landscaping Master Plan Services
<br />- Miller Legg is developing a comprehensive Landscaping
<br />Master Plan to guide the City’s landscaping development,
<br />maintenance, and enhancement efforts. This plan will ensure
<br />sustainable and visually appealing public spaces for residents
<br />and visitors. As part of the project, the firm will study major
<br />roadway landscapes across designated zones, creating a
<br />forward-looking Master Plan for key corridors. With a focus
<br />on sustainability, the plan will address both current and
<br />future needs while reinforcing South Miami’s unique identity.
<br />Professional Experience:
<br />As a Senior Landscape Architect, Mr. Phillips brings 40
<br />years of experience in landscape architectural design and
<br />landscape construction services for a variety of public and
<br />private projects. Specialties include landscape, hardscape, and
<br />irrigation design services for all aspects of active and passive
<br />park design, healthcare campuses, as well as streetscape
<br />and roadway projects including the Florida Department of
<br />Transportation (FDOT). Other experience includes various
<br />residential and commercial projects. Prior to joining Miller
<br />Legg, Mr. Phillips worked with other multi-disciplined firms
<br />in South Florida.
<br />Relevant Project Experience:
<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Landscape Architecture
<br />Services Contract - Miller Legg is collaborating with the
<br />City of Sunny Isles Beach to provide a variety of landscape
<br />architecture services under the firm’s multi-year Continuing
<br />Services Contract for Landscape Architecture Services (2022
<br />– 2027). Tasks provided include DRC Assignments, Plans
<br />Review, Permit Reviews, Inspections for Final Closeouts,
<br />Arborist and Tree Inspections, Code Compliance for Tree
<br />Dispositions, Rose Garden Design for Meditation Garden
<br />at Town Center Park, Revised Technical Specifications for
<br />Environmental and Landscape Architecture, Review and
<br />Renew entire Landscape Architecture Code – existing and
<br />future, and Review and Update contract for Landscape
<br />Maintenance.
<br />City of Homestead Downtown Landscape Master Plan
<br />- Under our Continuing Services Contract with the City
<br />of Homestead, Miller Legg is preparing a comprehensive
<br />Master Landscape Concept for five prominent gateway
<br />intersections serving Historic Downtown Homestead.
<br />These intersections - Krome Avenue and Flagler Avenue,
<br />Mowry Drive and the Busway, the Busway corridor from
<br />Mowry Drive to NE 2nd Street, NE 2nd Drive at the Busway,
<br />and Campbell Drive at Flagler Avenue and the Busway -
<br />function as key arrival points and visual thresholds into the
<br />downtown district. The master concept will support the
<br />City’s broader redevelopment and streetscape initiatives by
<br />establishing cohesive landscape and placemaking strategies
