Miller Legg is a subconsultant to BCC <br />Engineering for this City of Miami Miscellaneous Continuing <br />Services Contract project. <br />City of Miami Beach Seawall Replacement Technical <br />Memorandum for 48th Street and N. Bay Road and <br />Flamingo Drive at 29th Street - Miller Legg performed a <br />benthic natural resource survey along and adjacent to two <br />existing seawalls to document corals, seagrasses and any other <br />natural resources located within the area. This information <br />will be used to develop avoidance and minimization measures <br />associated with seawall replacement and project design and <br />application for DERM Class I Coastal Resources Permit <br />with a Special Conditions including a Coral Relocation Plan, <br />and any other necessary environmental permits if impacts <br />are unavoidable. The project location also falls within the <br />National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) critical habitat for <br />the Johnson’s seagrass, therefore, there is potential for this <br />species to be present within the survey area. Miller Legg is a <br />subconsultant to BCC Engineering under their Professional <br />Architectural and Engineering Services in Specialized <br />Categories “As Needed” Contract. <br />City of Miami Beach Seawall 48th Street Coral <br />Relocation - Miller Legg is temporarily relocating corals <br />during N Bay Road & 48th Street End Seawall project. <br />Once construction is complete, and the turbidity curtains <br />are removed, the biologists will survey the new riprap to <br />determine a location that will afford the coral the best <br />chance for stability and long-term survival. The coral will <br />be placed within the riprap so that its orientation and depth <br />are comparable with its original position. A post relocation <br />report will be completed, including a site plan that identifies <br />the relocated coral, pre- and post-locations of the coral, <br />and the anticipated survivability. In addition, Miller Legg <br />will prepare a one week, one month and six months post <br />relocation coral monitoring reports. <br />Everglades Holiday Park Arena - Miller Legg is providing <br />survey, geotechnical, environmental, civil, mechanical, <br />Professional Experience: <br />Mr. Mohler is a Biologist and Certified Arborist, providing <br />a variety of services to both public and private sector ents, <br />including: tree species identification and inventories, tree <br />surveys and canopy mapping, destroyed/damaged tree <br />assessments, tree value estimates, tree grading, tree species <br />selection for planting, mangrove trimming oversight and tree <br />permitting. <br />Relevant Project Experience: <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach Landscape Architecture <br />Services Contract - Miller Legg is collaborating with the <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach to provide a variety of landscape <br />architecture services under the firm’s multi-year Continuing <br />Services Contract for Landscape Architecture Services (2022 <br />– 2027). Tasks provided include DRC Assignments, Plans <br />Review, Permit Reviews, Inspections for Final Closeouts, <br />Arborist and Tree Inspections, Code Compliance for Tree <br />Dispositions, Rose Garden Design for Meditation Garden <br />at Town Center Park, Revised Technical Specifications for <br />Environmental and Landscape Architecture, Review and <br />Renew entire Landscape Architecture Code – existing and <br />future, and Review and Update contract for Landscape <br />Maintenance. <br />City of Miami Brickell and Coconut Grove Seawalls <br />- Miller Legg conducted biological surveys of benthic <br />resources (seagrass, corals, and upland vegetation), prepared <br />permit applications, and RAI responses in order to submit <br />permit applications for the replacement of three distinct <br />seawall projects between SE 25th Road to Matheson Avenue <br />and Brickell Bay in the City of Miami.
