The <br />seagrass survey was conducted using scuba diving and digital <br />global positioning satellite equipment and included transect/ <br />quadrant measurements of seagrass density, abundance, and <br />frequency of occurrence. <br />Everglades Holiday Park Arena - Providing survey, <br />geotechnical, environmental, civil, mechanical, structural <br />engineering, landscape architecture, permitting assistance <br />and construction phase services for the proposed arena at <br />Everglades Holiday Park. <br />City of Fort Lauderdale Las Olas Streetscape Design <br />- As a subconsultant to The Corradino Group, Miller Legg <br />has provided various landscape architecture services for the <br />Las Olas Streetscape Project. The project spans eastward <br />from Andrews Avenue and engages four (4) distinct districts <br />along Las Olas Boulevard including Downtown Las Olas, The <br />Historic Shops, Colee Hammock, and The Isles. Each district <br />has been designed to retain its individual identity, while <br />simultaneously being part of a cohesive complete street <br />design between Downtown Fort Lauderdale and The Beach. <br />Miller Legg’s planting design along the corridor was entirely <br />composed of native and Florida Friendly species to create a <br />pedestrian friendly environment accenting each district along <br />Las Olas Boulevard. Miller Legg also provided placemaking <br />and programming services, for which the designers created <br />parklets, plazas, and iconic hardscape elements with water <br />features and public art installations that work as resting <br />places and wayfinding spots. These systems incorporate <br />such slogans as “Meet me at Las Olas” “Colee Hammock” <br />and “The Isles” in the hardscape to promote wayfinding. <br />Overhead shade structures were also designed to help with <br />wayfinding through decorative elements subtly depicting the <br />initials corresponding to each area (eg. “HSLO” for Historic <br />Shops Las Olas). Miller Legg’s scope included programming <br />the pedestrian areas along the corridor which integrated <br />hardscape design, seating design, and open space utilization. <br />The firm assisted with multiple public outreach efforts <br />including conceptual graphics and renderings to support <br />meetings with homeowner association groups. The project was funded by a SUN Trail <br />Grant through FDOT. <br />City of Miami Gardens Rolling Oaks Regional Park <br />- Renovations of the Rolling Oaks Regional Park included <br />construction of a new one-story 4,000 SF recreation building, <br />renovated restroom facilities, expansion of walking trail with <br />lighting, distance marker, and exercise stations, new pavilions, <br />new parking lot, refurbished basketball and tennis courts, <br />new fencing, new shaded playgrounds, new landscaping and <br />irrigation, addition of horseshoe pits, sand volleyball, mini <br />golf, and video system and WIFI. Miller Legg provided civil <br />engineering, landscape architecture, surveying and SUE <br />services for this 40-acre park as a subconsultant to Synalovski, <br />Romanik and Saye Architects. The civil scope included design <br />of a lift station and on-site force main extension to service <br />the proposed Welcome Center. An arborist assessment <br />of existing trees and palms was carried out as part of the <br />landscape architecture services. <br />City of Hollywood Sunset Park Master Plan <br />Implementation - Miller Legg is providing multidisciplinary <br />architectural and engineering services for the implementation <br />of the City of Hollywood’s Sunset Park Master Plan, <br />transforming the former 40-acre Sunset Golf Course into the <br />City’s largest passive public park. Services include surveying, <br />subsurface utility engineering (SUE), environmental consulting, <br />geotechnical engineering, architecture, MEP engineering, civil <br />engineering, landscape architecture, lighting design, permitting <br />assistance and preparation of site plans and construction <br />documents. The project supports the City’s vision of creating <br />a signature community park that enhances recreational <br />opportunities, preserves natural resources and provides open <br />space for generations to come. <br />Broward County Parks and Recreation West Lake <br />Park II - Environmental Services - Permitting and design <br />of enhancements for the second phase of this 1,500-acre <br />estuarine wetland. The firm provided both environmental <br />and engineering services for necessary mitigation for the <br />Port Everglades and Ft. Lauderdale-Hollywood International <br />Airport expansion projects.
