City of Homestead Downtown Landscape Master Plan
- Under our Continuing Services Contract with the City of
Homestead, Miller Legg is preparing a comprehensive Master
Landscape Concept for five prominent gateway intersections
serving Historic Downtown Homestead. These intersections
- Krome Avenue and Flagler Avenue, Mowry Drive and the
Busway, the Busway corridor from Mowry Drive to NE 2nd
Street, NE 2nd Drive at the Busway, and Campbell Drive at
Flagler Avenue and the Busway - function as key arrival points
and visual thresholds into the downtown district. The master
concept will support the City’s broader redevelopment and
streetscape initiatives by establishing cohesive landscape and
placemaking strategies that enhance downtown identity,
improve pedestrian comfort, and strengthen multimodal
connectivity. The effort focuses on creating a unified landscape
framework through coordinated plant palettes, conceptual
hardscape features, and gateway elements that reinforce a
sense of place while accommodating transit, vehicular, bicycle,
and pedestrian activity. The Master Landscape Concept aligns
