Coordination meetings with City staff, a pre-design meeting
with Broward County Resilient Environment Department
(BCRED) and existing permits and as-built documents
research were instrumental in achieving a design that meets
the City’s needs as well as the requirements of jurisdictional
agencies. The project is currently in construction.
Everglades Holiday Park Arena - Providing survey,
geotechnical, environmental, civil, mechanical, structural
engineering, landscape architecture, permitting assistance
and construction phase services for the proposed arena at
Everglades Holiday Park.
City of Delray Beach Pompey Park Community Center
and Campus Design - Miller Legg is providing surveying,
SUE, civil engineering, landscape architecture, permitting
and construction phase services associated with the design
of Pompey Park Community Center and Campus in Delray
Beach. Surveying services consist of specific service and
topographic surveys; subsurface utility engineering, including
vacuum excavations. Landscape architecture scope elements
are associated with design of planting, irrigation, hardscape,
site amenities, two (2) playgrounds, baseball fields (relocation
and restoration). Our tree inventory arborist services were
key to meeting the community’s desire to preserve the
large established tree canopy within the Park. Schematic
design tasks include due diligence, code, programming, site
engineering, landscape and hardscape schematic design
verification. Miller Legg assisted with community outreach
and relevant City agency design review presentations
throughout the process. Permitting coordination will be
conducted with the City Engineering and Water and Sewer
departments, Lake Worth Drainage District and Palm Beach
County Health Department.
City of Plantation Parks Wetlands Maintenance
Reviews - Miller Legg has been a consultant to the City over
the past 12 years providing wetlands maintenance reviews
at multiple City parks, including Volunteer Park, Plantation
Preserve and Central Park wetland areas. This environmental
consulting work includes semi-annual site visits to the wetland
areas and a brief report documenting the findings of the field
reviews, recommendations for maintenance and compliance
with previous permits and conservation easements, as well
as Florida’s Communities Trust (FCT) annual stewardship
reporting for Plantation Preserve.
for applications to the USACOE/FDEP, SFWMD and Miami-
Dade DERM, along with RAI responses. Firm biologists
conducted a Florida Bonneted Bat Limited Roost Survey to
determine whether the mature trees within the project area
were being used as roosting areas by this endangered species.
Miller Legg prepared a certified arborist review report
incorporating the Park and Ride project parcel component and
landscape architecture services. The landscape architecture
scope includes hardscape, site amenities, landscape, landscape
lighting, irrigation schematic design, design development and
construction documents.
Broward County Parks and Recreation West Lake
Park Phase 4 - Miller Legg was again selected to provide
environmental, surveying and engineering services for this
1,500-acre Broward County and State-owned tidal estuarine
park in Hollywood, this time for the fourth (4th) segment.
The scope of services includes mitigation design and dredge
and fill permitting through US Army Corps of Engineers
(USACOE) and Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation
Commission (FWCC) to encourage natural/pioneer
mangrove propagation, preservation of existing mangroves,
negotiation of permit modifications through Broward County
Environmental Protection Department (BCEPD), South
Florida Water Management District (SFWMD) and USACOE
services. Specific tasks being provided for this segment are
the following: Wetland Determination, Seagrass Surveys,
Environmental Resource Permitting (USACOE, SFWMD),
Restoration Design including use of Drone, Civil Engineering,
Surveying, Soil Disposal Coordination and Administration
and Planting (over 63,000 plants) Review & Rip Rap &
Marine Wetland Protection Design. Miller Legg will provide
compliance monitoring services for a five-year period after
construction completion.
City of Oakland Park NE 13th Avenue Improvements
LAP - Miller Legg is providing survey and civil engineering
services for the stormwater management and sidewalk
improvements along the NE 13th Avenue 3-mile corridor,
approximately 156 acres of established residential
neighborhoods. The project entails providing sidewalks, new
driveway connections and stormwater system improvements
to connect the various streets east and west of NE 13th
Avenue to the existing 72-inch drainage pipeline in NE
13th Avenue, thereby reducing flood risk including at key
intersections. Under our Continuing Services Contract, Miller
Legg prepared a topographic survey, provided due diligence
investigation services, performed a hydraulic analysis of the
existing and proposed stormwater management system,
and prepared design development documents. The project
includes coordination with existing dry utilities, including
recently installed FPL power poles. Additionally, the existing
swales along the corridor are proposed to be improved to
