RFQ #26-07-01 Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering Consulting Services | 26MLA00190 <br />| Page 72 <br />2 Collaboration with Stakeholders: <br />Throughout the project and <br />design phases, Miller Legg will <br />maintain continual communication <br />with stakeholders, soliciting their <br />input on the design and process. This <br />helps to establish City, stakeholders, <br />and other user desires for the project, <br />and outlines the project program clearly <br />for all parties involved. The City of <br />Sunny Isles Beach community has active <br />stakeholders whose input and support <br />will be key to the any project’s <br />success. 3 Design Stage: <br />In this third step, Miller <br />Legg incorporates the <br />analysis from the site evaluation, <br />and combines that information <br />with the stakeholder desires to <br />develop the theme, composition <br />and material selection. We <br />provide design documents in 3 <br />phases, Conceptual, Preliminary, and <br />Final. The Conceptual Design is a quick <br />graphic format, to visually communicate <br />the overall design intent and potential <br />project site opportunities. Miller Legg <br />will review concepts with the City to <br />receive input on overall design intent. <br />Our multi-disciplinary collaborative <br />approach includes the Landscape <br />Architectural Team reviewing concepts <br />with Environmental, Planning, <br />and Transportation / Engineering <br />members to ensure that the <br />concepts are truly “feasible.” <br />This is necessary because <br />concepts presented to City and <br />the project’s stakeholders, need <br />to be truly achievable project <br />designs. Preliminary and Final <br />Design Phase are developed <br />upon City’s acceptance of a <br />project concept. Preliminary <br />design documents are prepared, <br />including the designation of <br />general material types for various <br />hardscape and landscape <br />elements and infrastructure <br />improvements. <br />Anticipated improvements will also be identified and <br />presented, accurately scaled to demonstrate true spatial <br />relations. A preliminary opinion of probable cost is <br />generated to identify appropriate/available budgets for <br />proposed enhancements. If the anticipated costs exceed <br />the project budget, design modifications are addressed <br />at this stage, rather than during the construction <br />document phase. <br />Miller Legg anticipates performing the landscape <br />architecture in-house, as we have the expertise, <br />experience, depth, and background to handle the <br />workload ourselves, streamlining internal coordination <br />and collaboration with the City. 4 Preparation of Construction Documents: <br />Construction documents, what the Contractor <br />will use to construct the project, are prepared in <br />accordance with the specifications outlines in the Final <br />Design. 5 Permitting with Local Agencies: <br />A key role for the designer, in this case, Miller <br />Legg, is to provide contract administration and <br />construction observation services to ensure the design <br />is being implemented by the contractor in the way the <br />City desires and Miller Legg intended. Miller Legg will <br />conduct a review meeting with the City of Sunny Isles <br />Beach and associated review agencies, prepare and <br />distribute meeting minutes, so that appropriate parties <br />are aware of issues to be addressed in future submittals. <br />Lumion 3D Rendering Approach - Landscape ArchitectureSection 4
