<br />for securing permit authorizations from the USACE, Florida Department of
<br />Environmental Protection, and Miami-Dade County DERM. Providing permit
<br />administration services an management of postconstruction biological monitoring
<br />services. Assisted the Village with management of their FDEP Beach Management
<br />Funding grant and reimbursements.
<br />Citywide Dune Master Plan, Miami Beach, FL. Project scientist assisting with
<br />the City to develop an updated Dune Master Plan to address dune maintenance/
<br />creation goals. Conducted dune vegetation assessment surveys and created
<br />exhibits detailing vegetation observed. Assisted in drafting the updated plan,
<br />which included a management approach for dune projects with immediate
<br />and long-term shore protection, ecological, and aesthetic benefits, while also
<br />developing guidelines for design, permitting, funding, and maintenance.
<br />Citywide Pedestrian Beach Path Feasibility Analysis, Miami Beach, FL. Project
<br />manager in charge of conducting a feasibility study for the creation of a dedicated,
<br />citywide, pedestrian-only path on the hardpacked sand east of the dunes. The
<br />City’s existing shared use Beachwalk path that is highly utilized by pedestrians,
<br />cyclists, joggers, and skaters, has experienced challenges with public safety due
<br />to conflicts between these users. Moffatt & Nichol undertook an initial phase
<br />of consulting services to assess the potential conceptual design alternatives,
<br />regulatory feasibility, construction costs, schedule, and other points of diligence
<br />relative to the proposed pedestrian beach path.

<br />Amanda Caparro is an environmental scientist and project manager
<br />specializing in environmental permitting and regulatory compliance analysis
<br />in the coastal and marine environments. Amanda’s project experience
<br />includes field investigations, technical review and analysis, regulatory
<br />compliance, and processing of coastal construction and environmental
<br />resource permits for a variety of projects, including residential, mixed-use,
<br />and resort developments, beach nourishment projects, shoreline stabilization
<br />structures, and environmental restoration projects. Amanda also conducts dune
<br />vegetation assessments and surveys, as well as assisting with the design and
<br />implementation of restoration for vegetated coastal habitats.
