Heavy boat <br />traffic has resulted in significant seagrass prop-scarring and resulting wakes have <br />eroded the shoreline. The project includes low-crested rubble breakwaters, red <br />mangrove plantings, and Reef Arches. <br />Northern Flagler County Emergency Dune Nourishment (Reach 3), Flagler <br />County, FL. Project manager and Engineer of Record for an emergency dune <br />nourishment along approximately 2 miles of northern Flagler County shoreline. <br />Responsible for construction drawings, construction administration and inspection, <br />environmental monitoring, and post-construction reporting. <br />Northern Flagler County FEMA Dune Nourishment (Reaches 3 and 4), Flagler <br />County, FL. Project manager and Engineer of Record for dune nourishment <br />sponsored by FEMA along approximately 3.5 miles of northern Flagler County <br />shoreline. Responsible for construction drawings, construction administration and <br />inspection, environmental monitoring, and post-construction reporting. <br />Village of Key Biscayne Back Bay Coastal Storm Risk Management, Village <br />of Key Biscayne, FL. Project manager for the Back Bay Coastal Storm Risk <br />Management feasibility study for the Village of Key Biscayne. Low-lying areas <br />of the Village, including critical infrastructure, are vulnerable to flooding due to <br />increased tide levels and more frequent and intense storm systems. Because of <br />its location on an island, the Village is susceptible to storm surge from both the <br />bay and ocean sides of the community. This project seeks to add the Village to <br />Miami Dade County’s Federal Shore Protection Project, which is a 50-year beach <br />management strategy. <br />Casey Connor PE <br />Coastal Engineering | Moffatt & Nichol <br />Casey Connor has 21 years of experience in coastal engineering, navigation, <br />and marine/waterfront consulting projects throughout the US, Caribbean, Central <br />America, and Middle East. Casey has managed and led the analysis and design <br />of projects such as: living shorelines; and habitat restoration such as island <br />rookery creation; marsh and wetland creation; beach and dune nourishments; <br />rock structures such as groins, jetties, and breakwaters; dredging and beneficial <br />reuse; navigation; and tidal circulation restoration. Throughout his career, Casey <br />has provided comprehensive engineering consulting services including planning <br />and feasibility studies, data collection, pre- and post-disaster inspections and <br />recovery, state and federal permitting, preliminary and final design, construction <br />administration and inspection, and post-construction monitoring.
