<br />Management Plan which outlines a management approach for dune projects with
<br />immediate and long-term shore protection, ecological, and aesthetic benefits,
<br />while also developing guidelines for design, permitting, funding, and maintenance.
<br />Completed initial permitting feasibility assessment relative to extending the City’s
<br />Broadwalk path to the south for supplemental public beach access. Provided
<br />miscellaneous flood and CCCL regulatory compliance consulting services and
<br />assessment of permitting feasibility relative to installation of a public “day dock”
<br />along the ICW for water-based access to the barrier island.
<br />Beach Management Program, Key Biscayne, FL. Environmental manager who
<br />secured coastal/environmental permit authorizations and compliance for 26,000
<br />CY truck haul beach renourishment event completed in 2017 along 6,000 feet of
<br />shoreline, including pre- and post-construction biological and physical monitoring.
<br />Oversaw seagrass mitigation monitoring and compliance. Permit modification
<br />processing to refine teh FDEP Joint Coastal Permit Biological Monitoring Plan and to
<br />add new mined sand sources to all permits. Currently processing a long-term beach
<br />management permit.
<br />Marjory Stoneman Douglas Visitor Center, Everglades City, FL. Senior
<br />environmental manager on this Croft and Associates (PC) project for the National
<br />Park Service. The coastal design scope included raising the existing marina
<br />bulkhead by 2.3 feet to address sea level rise, expanding an existing boat launch,
<br />providing coastal fueling facilities, expanding an existing marina’s footprint, dredging
<br />the marina and access channel to support vessel access to Chokoloskee Bay, and
<br />replacing an existing seawall with a living shoreline of mangroves and building a
<br />new supplemental seawall.

<br />Christy provides environmental/permitting support and a range of stakeholder
<br />coordination and project strategy. Her experience includes a variety of projects
<br />in coastal, marine, waterfront, and other flood prone environments involving
<br />parks and other recreational facilities, docks and marinas, beach nourishment,
<br />stabilization of inlets, beaches, port and other industrial/infrastructure projects,
<br />and inland shorelines including protective structures, and other environmental
<br />restoration projects. Christy assists with the assessment of site conditions,
<br />including potential climate change and sea level rise factors, to help identify
<br />project risks and opportunities. She assists with the assessment of potential
<br />environmental impacts for proposed projects and represents clients in agency
<br />discussions of those impacts and potential mitigation to secure permits.
