<br />yacht marina at the iconic Pier 66 Hotel & Marina in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
<br />The existing fixed dock at the South Marina is being replaced with a world
<br />class floating dock marina with full-service utilities to accommodate yachts up
<br />to 370 feet long. Moffatt & Nichol completed the master planning for a multi-
<br />phased development as well as the preparation of permit drawings, design,
<br />and construction support services for Phase 1 which included 36” freeboard
<br />floating docks, shore power pedestals, domestic water, in-slip sewage pumpout,
<br />fire suppression system, and fuel transfer system. Pier 66 is home to the Fort
<br />Lauderdale International Boat Show’s superyacht village, and responsibilities
<br />included coordination with the boat show organizer, Informa, and the marina staff
<br />to accommodate boat show operations into the marina design.

<br />Client manager for the master planning efforts of a 15-acre shipyard and marina
<br />redevelopment in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. As part of the master planning process,
<br />Moffatt & Nichol developed a comprehensive waterfront master plan, through
<br />collaboration with existing ownership and land planner, Keith Engineering, to
<br />rebrand the aging shipyard facility as a world class mega yacht marina with
<br />shipyard capabilities. The master plan included conceptual design of the marina
<br />utilities including shore power, water, fire water, and sewage pumpout. The
<br />finalized master plan is moving into its first phase of implementation which
<br />includes a new parking lot, amenity area, floating dock, and utility upgrades to the
<br />existing Central Docks. As part of the master plan development, Moffatt & Nichol
<br />also completed grant research services to identify potential funding sources.

<br />Nicole is a structural engineer who specializes in the planning and design of
<br />arinas, ports, and other waterfront facilities. She has provided planning and
<br />engineering services for a wide variety of waterfront projects in Florida and
<br />the Caribbean with a special focus on marina and site planning for small craft
<br />marinas, superyacht marinas, and recreational parks. Nicole’s experience
<br />includes project management, concept development and master planning,
<br />marina and site planning, field assessments, repair of existing facilities, and
<br />the design and construction of new marina and port facilities. In addition to her
<br />project related experience, Nicole holds a leadership role in PIANC USA and
<br />is involved in the development of the small craft guidelines and floating dock
<br />specifications for the US Navy.
