Miami Harbor Entrance Channel Deepening, Miami, FL. Senior estimator for this
$200 million project to deepen the Miami Harbor channel entrance. Work included
dredging 5 million cubic yards with hydraulic, hopper, and mechanical dredges.
Construction included a 17-acre seagrass mitigation site, 9 acres of artificial reef,
and 7 acres of seagrass plantings. Developed internal cost estimates to bid this
project and explore countless options to secure the best bid. Once the project
was procured, developed monthly estimate updates by tracking actual costs and
production and incorporating future planning based on site developments.
Dauphin Island Causeway Shoreline Restoration, Mobile County, AL.
Construction estimator for the shoreline restoration of the Dauphin Island
Causeway for the Mobile County Environmental Services Department. The project
consisted of constructing 150,000 tons of nearshore rock breakwaters and the
dredging of approach and flotation channels. Involved in project from initial to final
design. Provided cost estimates during the various design stages. Assisted with
the review of contract specifications and contract drawings and held discussions
with potential contractors for feedback during the design stages.
Upper Mobile Bay Beneficial-Use Wetland Creation Site (Planning), Mobile,
AL. Construction estimator for the development of a 1,200-acre wetland creation
site in Upper Mobile Bay for the Alabama State Port Authority. The project
includes features such as constructing dredge-filled containment dikes, installing
rock revetments, excavating tidal creeks, constructing access channels, and
constructing a material offloading facility. Working with design engineers on cost
estimates for many different methodologies of containment dikes, borrow sources,
and revetments to arrive at the most costeffective solution. Providing a review of
geotechnical data for the most efficient areas of dike placement, as well as potential
borrow material sources.
protection and dredging and disposal of over 2.7 million cubic yards, as well as
pipeline relocations. Coordinating with potential contractors during the 30 percent
design/estimating phase regarding estimated costs, methods of disposal of
