SUNNY ISLES BEACH PROFESSIONAL SERVICES
Skate Park: KEITH was retained to provide a topographic survey of the Town Center Skate Park. The survey included
surface improvements such as buildings, roadways, pavement, sidewalks, traffic striping, walls, fences, and surface
utilities. Trees were also surveyed, and storm/sanitary structures were noted with pipe invert elevation, diameter, material,
and direction.
Vulnerability Assessment Grant Application: KEITH assisted the City of Sunny Isles Beach with a Vulnerability Assessment
and Adaptation Plan aimed at identifying, evaluating, and mitigating the City’s exposure to coastal hazards. Funded
by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection through the Resilient Florida Grant Program, this project was
focused on protecting Sunny Isles Beach’s critical infrastructure from the growing threats of sea level rise, storm surge,
tidal flooding, and compound climate events. Through a combination of geospatial data analysis, sea level rise modeling,
and scenario planning aligned with NOAA and FEMA standards, KEITH delivered a robust risk assessment to help the
City prioritize its most vulnerable assets. The resulting Adaptation Plan included customized strategies for resilience,
supported by community input and aligned with the City’s broader planning efforts, including capital improvements and
the Local Mitigation Strategy.
SR 826 / Sunny Isles Beach Blvd. Service Road Parking Lot: KEITH provided surveying and civil engineering services
for the development of a new parking lot under the exsisting SR 826/Sunny Isles Beach Blvd. overpass. This site area of
this project is 0.25 acres and will consist of approximately 24 to 30 parking spaces with lighting. KEITH assisted with a
topographic suurvey, preliminary engineering plans, engineering contruction documents, and permitting. KEITH also
coordinated with a subconsultant to provide electrical construction documents.
Government Center Office Trailer: KEITH provided civil engineering services for the furnishing of a new office trailer
located at the City of Sunny Isles Beach Governament Center building. KEITH prepared water and sanitary sewer service
plans for the proposed water closet and sink in the trailer. The KEITH Team also submitted permitting applications for the
construction of the trailer.
Intracoastal Park: KEITH assisted the Client in developing a KEITH Play project that included two separate parcels split by
Poinciana Drive, and bounded by SR A1A to the east and the Intracoastal Waterway to the west, featuring benches, picnic
tables, bike racks, concrete walkways, security lighting, and aluminum fencing on the 2.37-acre site. KEITH provided full
services to the Client including civil engineering, planning, survey, landscape architecture, and traffic. The KEITH Team
assisted the Client in managing a multi-disciplinary team within a very aggressive timeline to meet funding requirements
and successfully deliver this unique passive park to the community.
48
