KEY PERSONNEL RFQ 26-07-01 Continuing Professional Consulting Services Mike Rodriguez, FAIA is a broadly experienced architect with over 30 years in the profession. As founding principal of Rodriguez Architects, he is directly in charge of and participates on each firm project overseeing the activities of Project Managers, participating in all phases of project development and most importantly as the Quality Assurance/Control reviewer for this project. As a former licensed general contractor, Mr. Rodriguez has “hands-on” construction experience and knows what it takes to get a project built. Under his leadership, the firm has successfully completed many renovations and repairs projects where it was the prime member of the project team. He is also a recognized expert in the American with Disabilities Act and the Florida Accessibility Code for Building Construction and has given expert testimony on behalf of various clients with respect to the removal of architectural barriers. In addition to the ADA, Mr. Rodriguez is also an expert on Continuing Education for professionals, on professional practice issues and on the Florida Architectural Practice Act and the Florida Building Code. Mike has lectured as an Adjunct member of the Faculty at the University of Miami, School of Architecture on Construction Documents and at Florida International University on Professional Practice. He has also delivered continuing education courses on the AIA documents, the Florida Building Code and the ADA to fellow professionals and Building Officials around the State of Florida. His active involvement with professional issues over the past 19 years builds on his expertise and has placed Mr. Rodriguez in a position of leadership not only statewide but also nationally. He is recognized by colleagues for his contributions to the profession on both levels and is a Fellow of the American Institute of Architects; an honor bestowed on less than 3% of Institute members.
