37 <br />City of Sunny Isles Beach | RFQ 26-07-01 <br />Continuing Professional Architectural and Engineering | General Civil Engineer <br />Ross Engineering will supplement its in-house staff with specialized subconsultants <br />for mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, commissioning, sustainability, <br />surveying, and mapping services. All subconsultants will work under Robert <br />Ross’ direction and will be incorporated into Ross Engineering’s communication, <br />scheduling, document-control, and QA/QC procedures. This integrated team <br />structure provides the City with a single point of accountability, accessible <br />leadership, responsive project management, and the multidisciplinary expertise <br />needed to complete task orders efficiently and successfully. <br />SGM Engineering, Inc. (SGM) – Mechanical, HVAC, Plumbing, Fire Protection, Commissioning, and <br />Sustainability Support <br />SGM Engineering, Inc. will provide specialized mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, fire <br />protection, commissioning, and sustainability services as required by individual task <br />orders. Bobby Shahnami, PE, CxA, LEED AP BD+C, will serve as SGM’s <br />senior mechanical engineer and commissioning authority, providing <br />technical leadership, interdisciplinary coordination, commissioning <br />expertise, and guidance regarding energy-efficient and sustainable <br />building systems. He will coordinate closely with Ross Engineering’s <br />Project Manager to confirm that SGM’s work is consistent with <br />the City’s scope, schedule, budget, operational requirements, and <br />applicable codes and standards. <br />John Stellpflug, PE, will provide mechanical and HVAC engineering <br />support, including the evaluation of existing equipment, development <br />of system recommendations, preparation and review of calculations, <br />and production of plans, specifications, and cost-estimate information. <br />Hany Zareh, PE, CFPS, will lead plumbing and fire protection <br />engineering assignments, including assessments of existing systems, <br />code analysis, design calculations, equipment and material selections, <br />and preparation of construction documents. <br />The SGM team will also participate in site investigations, design coordination <br />meetings, permitting responses, submittal reviews, construction-phase services, <br />system observations, and commissioning activities when required. Their combined <br />experience will provide the City with coordinated, code-compliant, maintainable, <br />and energy-conscious building-system solutions. <br />PROJECT MANAGER SPOTLIGHT: MAINTAINING ACCOUNTABILITY, RESPONSIVENESS, AND CONTINUITY <br />Project Manager Robert Ross, PE, will remain actively involved throughout each task <br />order, adjusting staffing and resources based on project complexity, schedule, and <br />technical needs. He will establish communication procedures, monitor scope, budget, <br />and schedule, and address issues before they affect delivery. <br />Robert will also identify when specialized subconsultant expertise is needed and <br />coordinate their involvement, ensuring assignments, schedules, and deliverables remain <br />fully integrated with Ross Engineering’s work. While technical tasks will be delegated to qualified team <br />members and subconsultants, Robert will retain overall responsibility for City coordination and timely <br />delivery, working with Raymond Rammo, PE, Technical Advisor and QA/QC Lead, to ensure required <br />reviews are completed at key milestones.
