James has acted as project manager for various transit plans, corridor studies, passenger rail projects, and safety studies. Mobility Solutions l Team Member - Identified ways to increase ridership on the LauderGO! community shuttle service. James helped develop the project’s public survey and outreach materials and helped host the public engagement meetings for the project. He also reviewed the shuttle service and identified ways to improve efficiency and ridership. <br />Sarasota/Manatee MPO, Sun Trail Alignment Studies, Sarasota & Bradenton, FL l Team Member - James worked on two Sun Trail studies in Sarasota and Bradenton, Florida. The studies looked at two trail corridors proposed in the Florida Sun Trail network, developed performance metrics, identified route alternatives, hosted public engagement events, stakeholder meetings, and field visits, and then identified a recommended alternative. He assisted with public engagement efforts for the project, as well as developed custom tools in ArcGIS used for scoring each of the route alternatives per the performance metrics developed for each project. <br />MetroPlan Orlando, Critical Speed Network Study, Orlando, FL | Task Manager - The Critical Speed Network Study identified roadway segments in MetroPlan Orlando’s (MPO) urbanized area with high levels of speeding (85th percentile greater than or equal to 10 mph over speed limit) and a high crash rate or estimated property damage only (EPDO) score. The corridors were then overlaid on a context classification roadway network to identify a target speed limit per the surrounding land use. James helped develop the context classification network for MetroPlan’s urbanized area, conducted the crash rate and EPDO analysis, identified the critical speed network, and helped develop the methodology to recommend target speed limits. He also used ArcGIS Online for efficient collaboration with the client throughout the project schedule. <br />Palm Beach Transportation Planning Authority, Palm Beach, FL | Senior Transit Planner - James managed multimodal corridor studies, Bus Rapid Transit station design contracts, and Quiet Zone implementation along the FEC railway.
