Engineer of <br />Record. This project involved design for access management and asphalt pavement rehabilitation involving roadway, lighting, <br />signing, and pavement marking and signalization. Dr. La Paix was the Engineer of Record for signalization improvements, signalized <br />intersection replacement, pedestrian signal detection, traffic signal traffic controller upgrade to support Automated Traffic Signal <br />Performance Measures (ATSPM) and connected vehicle (CV) readiness. She was also responsible for signalized intersection <br />lighting design and ITS coordination. (FPID 442885-1; Contact: Tina Thomas; Telephone: (321)634-6111; Start/End Date: 2021- <br />2023). <br />SR 25/US 27 Roadway Resurfacing from Morse Blvd. to Buenos Aires Blvd., Sumter and Marion County, FDOT District 5. <br />Engineer of Record. This project is a roadway rehabilitation project involving signalization, lighting, roadway and signing and <br />pavement marking design. Dr. La Paix’s key responsibilities included design lead for development of signalization improvements <br />and new intersection lighting design plans at five existing signalized intersections. Tasks included, but not limited to, execution, <br />planning and production design and management. Challenges of this project involved improvement of pedestrian facilities, traffic <br />signals and both pedestrian and traffic vehicular detection. Lighting design also included design documentation and development of <br />lighting analysis design report (LDAR) per new FDOT FDM criteria (voltage drop calculations and photometric analysis). (FPID <br />445304-1; Communications Team Natecia Gayle; Telephone: (352)326-7744 / (352)620-3020; Start/End Date: 2021-2023). <br />SR 35 Roadway Resurfacing from CR 521 to SR 44 (MP 19.43 – MP 22.33), Sumter County, FDOT District 5. Engineer of <br />Record. This project is a roadway rehabilitation project involving signalization, road lighting, roadway and signing and pavement <br />marking design. The project will repave U.S. 27/U.S. 441 from Morse Boulevard to North of SE 178th Place to extend the life of the <br />existing roadway. The project will also construct nearly 1.3 miles of new sidewalk on both sides of the roadway to close gaps <br />throughout the entire project limits. To improve operations and help relieve congestion, the left turn lanes at the signalized <br />intersections will be modified to make more space for vehicles. Traffic signals will also be upgraded. Additional improvements <br />include new pedestrian signals and crosswalks, as well as drainage upgrades. Responsibilities include signalization design <br />production and management signalized intersections to improve traffic safety and monitoring. Lighting design includes development <br />of lighting analysis design report (LDAR) per latest FDOT FDM criteria for roadway segments. (FPID 445190-1; Design Project <br />Manager: Martina Paradysz; Telephone: (386)943-5466; Start/End Date: 2021-2023). <br />SR 849 - Improve Lighting From SR 814/Atlantic Blvd to MLK Blvd/Coconut Creek Prkwy, District 4. Engineer of Record. <br />Install lighting on the east side of SR 849/NW 31 Avenue between SR 814/Atlantic Boulevard and MLK Boulevard/ Coconut Creek <br />Parkway. Coordinate with FPL to retrofit existing lighting on the west side with LED luminaires. Retrofit lighting at the intersection of <br />SR 849/NW 31 Avenue and SR 814/Atlantic Boulevard. Retrofit lighting at the intersection of SR 849/NW 31 Avenue and MLK <br />Blvd./Coconut Creek Parkway. (Start/End Date: 2023-2024). <br />St. Lucie Gatlin Blvd I-95, FDOT District 4. Engineer of Record. This project involves the design of Dynamic Curve Warning <br />System (DCWS), a Road Weather Information System, Dynamic Message System (DMS) and a CCTV camera. The design included <br />a preparation of a concept of operations report according to the FDOT guidelines, concept layout, estimation of quantities, and final <br />plans of each subsystem and connectivity to existing systems. Selection of systems requirements and analysis of alternatives is <br />included. Major challenges include the design of an integrated system available 24/7 under high serviceability scenarios. This project includes new intersection <br />construction, roadway rehabilitation project involving signalization, lighting, signing and pavement marking design. Lighting design <br />includes pedestrian areas, vertical and horizontal illuminance at intersections and crosswalks. Several new intersections have been <br />designed, with different scenarios to adequate fixtures and mounting height, retrofitting and adding new light poles. (Ongoing <br />Contract) <br />
