<br /> Career Summary
<br />
<br />Ms. Alba has provided geotechnical engineering services on numerous geotechnical
<br />explorations over the past 28 years, including serving as the Geotechnical Discipline
<br />Lead for the I-595 Corridor Improvement project in Broward County, Florida, which is the
<br />first Public-Private-Partnership (P3) project ever awarded by FDOT. Ms. Alba has been
<br />involved in the planning, analysis, execution, and review of geotechnical projects ranging
<br />from roadway and railways to complex roadway bridge and tunnel projects to commercial
<br />high-rise buildings, school projects, and other local municipality projects. Ms. Alba has
<br />performed evaluations for retaining walls, drainage structures, shallow foundations,
<br />driven piles, drilled shafts, augercast piles, micropiles, and pressure injected footings.
<br />Ms. Alba’s experience has also included finite element analysis, slope stability
<br />evaluations, soil nail wall design, and evaluation of geosynthetics applications, and
<br />geotechnical ground improvement techniques.
<br />Project Experience
<br /> Samson Oceanfront Park, City of Sunny Isles, Miami-Dade County, Florida This
<br />project consists of construction of a stage with a 4-inch concrete slab and 12-foot-high
<br />columns supporting a concrete roof, and a children’s playground with a rubberized floor
<br />and 25-foot-high columns supporting a concrete roof. Ms. Alba’s responsibilities included
<br />project oversight for the geotechnical engineering services, including field and utility
<br />coordination, report preparation, and recommendations.
<br /> Soils, Foundation, and Materials Testing Services, Miami-Dade County, Florida Ms.
<br />Alba served as the Project Manager and Senior Geotechnical Engineer for this contract,
<br />providing oversight of geotechnical engineering, construction materials testing, and
<br />inspection services for a variety of infrastructure improvement projects. These projects
<br />included water main extensions, intersection enhancements, and sidewalk improvements
<br />for multiple Miami-Dade County agencies, including Miami-Dade Water and Sewer
<br />Department, Public Works, Dade Aviation Consultants, and Parks, Recreation and Open
<br />Spaces.
<br /> City of Miami, Miscellaneous Engineering Services, Miami, Florida Ms. Alba
<br />supports this contract on an as-needed basis, providing project management and senior
<br />engineering expertise for a wide range of infrastructure improvement initiatives. The
<br />contract scope includes roadway and drainage improvements, stormwater management,
<br />sea level rise adaptation and resilience planning, utility coordination, post-design
<br />services, and civil, structural, environmental, and marine/coastal engineering. She also
<br />supports Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) services, ensuring projects are
<br />delivered in accordance with technical requirements, regulatory standards, and client
<br />objectives.
<br /> District-Wide Geotechnical and Materials Testing, FDOT District Six, Florida Ms.
<br />Alba served as the Senior Geotechnical Engineer for this task-order contract, providing
<br />geotechnical engineering support for a variety of transportation infrastructure projects. Her responsibilities included overs eeing
<br />pavement coring investigations, evaluating subsurface conditions, and providing geotechnical recommendations to support in -house
<br />roadway design projects. She collaborated closely with design teams to assess pavement structures, interpret geotechnical dat a, and
<br />develop cost-effective solutions that supported project design, constructability, and long-term performance.
<br /> General Engineering Consultant Program Management, GMX, Miami-Dade County, Florida (RFP No. 10-04) Ms. Alba served as
<br />the Project Manager/Senior Geotechnical Engineer responsible for providing geotechnical engineering and construction material s
<br />testing quality assurance verification services. Specific functions of this role included: conducting periodical reviews of the construction
<br />projects, assisting CEI consultants in monitoring and evaluating contractor’s product and performance, checking CEI’s QA/QC P lan,
<br />and identifying and reporting problems that can affect the execution of the project.
