<br />NE 151st Street / Bay Vista Road Improvements, Miami-Dade County Department of Transportation and Public Works
<br />Highway Division, Miami-Dade County, Florida Ms. Alba served as the Senior Geotechnical Engineer for roadway improvements,
<br />which include roadway widening, drainage improvements, and mast arm structures. The existing four -lane divided Bay Vista Rd will be
<br />widened to a six-lane divided section. In addition, approximately 1,300 LF of new pipe alignment is proposed. Geotechnical
<br />recommendations included delineation of unsuitable soils (plastic and organic soils) and use of geogrid reinforcement.
<br /> SR 822/ Sheridan Street Widening (BC 105802), Broward County, Florida Ms. Alba served as Chief Geotechnical Engineer for this
<br />project, which consisted of roadway widening along Sheridan Street from west of SW 148th Ave. to East of Flamingo Rd. The proposed
<br />improvements consisted of roadway widening, new sidewalks on each side of the road, new mast arms at 5 intersections, and dra inage
<br />improvements.
<br /> City of Sunrise Geotechnical Engineering and Testing Continuing Services Contract (#2022000266), Sunrise, Florida AREHNA
<br />serves as the Prime Subconsultant on this task-order contract. Ms. Alba serves as the Senior Geotechnical Engineer, overseeing all
<br />geotechnical engineering services. Projects completed under this contract have included support for the Sawgrass Wastewater
<br />Treatment Plant Replacement and the pre-demolition assessment of two existing buildings at the Sawgrass Wastewater Treatment
<br />Plant.
<br /> City of Cutler Bay Saga Bay 1.2 Sub-Basin, Miami-Dade County, Florida Ms. Alba served as the Senior Geotechnical Engineer for
<br />the proposed manholes, drainage pipes, French drains, replacement of catch basins, and headwall in the existing lake outfall along 79
<br />Place & SW 198 St.
<br /> West Park Roadway and Drainage Improvements, City of West Park, Broward County, Florida Ms. Alba served as the Senior
<br />Geotechnical Engineer for this project. The project consisted of milling and resurfacing the existing roadway lanes, widening the
<br />existing lanes to provide more parking and swales along SW 25 th Street from SR 7 to SW 40th Avenue. The site is located within a
<br />commercial and residential area and is approximately 1.5 miles long.
<br /> City of Oakland Park Mast Arm Traffic Signals, Broward County, Florida This project consists of new mast arm foundations at 19
<br />intersections throughout the City of Oakland Park. Ms. Alba’s responsibilities included project oversight for the geotechnical
<br />engineering services, including field and utility coordination, report preparation, and recommendations.
<br /> South Dade Landfill Cell No. 5, Miami-Dade County, Florida Ms. Alba was responsible for project management and geotechnical
<br />engineering services for the landfill expansion with an area of approximately 56 acres, plan dimensions of approximately 900 feet by
<br />2,500 feet, and a planned height of 150 feet above existing ground surface.
<br /> SR-5/ US-1 Over Loxahatchee River (Jupiter Federal) Bascule Bridge Replacement, FDOT District Four, Palm Beach County, Florida Ms. Alba served as Senior Geotechnical Engineer for this project, which includes a bascule bridge replacement and new
<br />retaining walls, a new observation deck supported by 18-inch concrete driven piles beneath the new bridge. Due to nearby historical
<br />properties sensitive to vibrations, during the design phase a load test of a 30-inch pile was performed and based on the results of the
<br />load test, the drilled shafts at the piers were replaced with 30-inch concrete piles, which resulted in significant cost savings for the
<br />project and avoiding potential delays associated with drilled shaft constructability issues.
<br /> Ojus Elementary School Addition, Miami-Dade County Public Schools, Miami, Florida Ms. Alba served as the Senior
<br />Geotechnical Engineer for the planned three-story building addition to the existing school. Challenges included the presence of a 5’
<br />thick compressible clay layer, which was encountered at approx. 13’ depth along the northern end of the building footprint. In order to
<br />prevent excessive settlement, recommendations for 14-in, 16-in, and 18-in augercast piles were provided for the northern end of the
<br />building. Shallow foundation recommendations were provided for the southern end of the building.
<br /> Weston Road Corridor Improvements from New River Circle to Griffin Road, City of Weston, Florida Ms. Alba serves as the
<br />Chief Geotechnical Engineer for this project, which includes roadway widening, drainage improvements, new mast arm installations at
<br />S. Commerce Parkway, and milling and resurfacing along approximately 4 miles of Weston Road.
<br /> City of Hollywood Professional Engineering Continuing Services Civil Engineering Roadway, City of Hollywood, Broward County, Florida Ms. Alba is serving as Chief Geotechnical Engineer for this task work order contract, which has included the bridge
<br />replacement over the C-10 canal and includes milling and resurfacing and drainage improvements.
<br /> Miami Intermodal Center (MIC), MDAD/ FDOT District Six, Miami-Dade County, Florida Ms. Alba served as the Senior
<br />Geotechnical Engineer responsible for performing engineering analysis and preparing geotechnical reports for a multi-faceted
<br />transportation project that includes two buildings, the rental car facility, a people mover and associated station, the MIC c ore building, a
<br />pedestrian bridge, tri-rail and interstate rail platforms, and all associated new at-grade roadways, elevated highways, bridges, and
<br />retaining walls.
