<br />FDOT District 4, S.R. 817/University Dr Widening from Nova Dr to S.R. 84.
<br />This project consisted of the widening of a 0.5-mile segment of one lane of S.R. 817/University Drive from south of
<br />Nova Drive to S.R. 84. This project included the addition of a choice lane and the widening of the on-ramp connecting
<br />to I-595 by one lane. Bike lane and shared-use path modifications were included within the reconstruction. David
<br />was responsible for assisting with the roadway and drainage design and the development of Temporary Traffic
<br />Control Plans (TTCPs).

<br />FDOT District 6, Districtwide Traffic Operations Studies Contract for S.R. 959/SW 57th Ave/Red Rd at SW
<br />19th St.
<br />This project evaluated the feasibility of installing a pedestrian crosswalk and determining recommendations
<br />for potential improvements, in response to citizen complaints at the study intersection. David performed data
<br />collection for this project, which involved 72-Hour traffic volume approach counts, 8-Hour Turning Movement
<br />Counts (TMCs), and vehicle gap measurements. He also performed safety analysis, pedestrian evaluation and
<br />analysis, and provided recommendations, based on the the FDOT Traffic Engineering Manual (TEM).

<br />MDC-DTPW, NW 25th St Reconstruction from NW 117th Ave to NW 87th Ave.
<br />This project consists of the full reconstruction of approximately 3.0 miles of the existing roadway from a 4-lane
<br />road to a 6-lane road with raised median, sidewalk on the south side, shared-use path on the north side with the
<br />appropriate structural supporting system for the path, due to widening into the North Line Canal, curb and gutter,
<br />stormwater drainage system, signing and pavement marking, traffic signalization, roadway lighting, environmental
<br />permitting, and construction administration. David is responsible for the drainage design, analysis, and permitting
<br />of the proposed roadway widening improvements.

<br />FDOT District 6, S.R. 25/U.S. 27/Okeechobee Rd Transportation Management Plan (TMP).
<br />David assisted with all traffic engineering tasks for this project, which involved coding the VISSIM microsimulation
<br />model for the corridor, including all detour and diversion routes. He also assisted with the Synchro Analysis of
<br />the project corridor. Four microsimulation scenarios were tested: base model, during construction no closure, 1
<br />lane closure, and full closure. This required balancing traffic, determining the traffic growth rate over the course of
<br />construction, generating AM and PM models for each scenario, and optimizing the signal timing for each scenario.
<br />Smart Work Zones (SWZs) were identified, based on the dynamic assignment of the models.

<br />FDOT District 6, Hialeah Freight Study.
<br />This Hialeah Freight study was part of a regional planning effort to facilitate freight movement in Miami-Dade
<br />County. FDOT District 6 investigated freight corridors within the City of Hialeah and surrounding areas, to develop
<br />alternatives that enhance freight connectivity and minimize transportation conflicts. David’s primary responsibility
<br />was data collection. This effort included AM peak, Mid-day peak, and PM peak weekday Turning Movement Counts
<br />(TMCs) at 29 intersections. The counts were conducted at all movements for each intersection, including special
<br />movements, such as fly over ramps, utilizing Miovision Scout cameras. Data collection also included volume and
