HBC Engineering Company | 143 <br />Omar Sosa <br />CEI Inspector <br />Omar has made strides with significant experience working in the <br />Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) industry as a CEI Inspector. <br />Omar has provided Verification Testing (VT) in the field of asphalt, where <br />he aided in performing asphalt coring, soil testing, sampling, and has <br />gained experience with Milling and Resurfacing (M&R), road rehabilitation, <br />and maintenance techniques. His proficiency also extends to a range of <br />other construction activities, including earthwork, Maintenance of Traffic <br />(MOT), clearing and grubbing, sediment barrier installation, drainage <br />systems implementation, regular excavation, guardrail installation, lighting, <br />signalization, the application of Signing and Pavement Markings (S&PMs), <br />and concrete coring, testing, and sampling. Omar’s premiere experience was <br />on the FDOT District 4 Boynton Beach project, which was completed with a <br />6-month acceleration and won a Best in Construction MOT Award from the <br />Florida Transportation Builders’ Association (FTBA). During his time on this <br />contract, he gained exposure to signalized intersection inspections, including <br />signal components such as mast arms, controller cabinets, conduit, and pull <br />boxes, supporting verification of installation against FDOT standards. During <br />his time in this role, Omar gained experience maintaining logbooks, testing, <br />and sampling concrete. His professionalism and dedication have enabled <br />him to rapidly grasp essential programs, such as PrC and MAC, and gain <br />an intimate understanding of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) <br />Standards and Specifications and MOT. <br />Broward County, CEI Services for West Hillsboro Blvd Improvements. <br />Construction Engineering and Inspection (CEI) Inspector for this NW 64th <br />Terrace/NW 74th Place/West Hillsboro Boulevard Intersection Improvements <br />Project, which involves the construction of new bike lanes, installation of <br />street lighting, development of a roundabout at the NW 64th Terrace/NW <br />74th Place/West Hillsboro Boulevard intersection, as well as Milling and <br />Resurfacing (M&R) the existing roadway, sidewalk enhancements, intersection <br />improvements including signalization, and ADA compliance improvements. <br />Max oversees daily construction activities to ensure adherence to project <br />plans, specifications, and safety standards. He conducts inspections of <br />materials and workmanship, verifying the proper installation of bike lanes, <br />lighting, and roundabout components. His responsibilities include maintaining <br />detailed records of inspections, test results, and any issues encountered <br />during construction. He monitors project progress, tracks milestones, and <br />reports on any delays or deviations from the schedule.
