<br />KCI serves as the resident landscape architectural plan reviewers for the City of Aventura. Using the City’s Trakit
<br />permitting portal, KCI reviews all site plans and construction plans to ensure compliance with City code, as well as local,
<br />state, and federal regulations. KCI also periodically reviews City codes, making updates or recommendations to keep
<br />the codes current with changing regulations and aligned with City goals. Additionally, KCI employs landscape architects
<br />and landscape inspectors to conduct post-permit installation inspections, verifying adherence to approved construction
<br />documents and the quality of materials.
<br />Alligator Alley, Florida Department of Transportation. Broward County, FL. Staff Team. This project involved landscape
<br />assessment, design, and post-design for four recreational areas along Alligator Alley. Project details included excavation,
<br />adding clean fill for successful planting, and creating unique themes for each of the north and southbound recreational
<br />areas. The landscape themes were inspired by the newly proposed wetland education area at the nearby rest stop and
<br />included hardwood hammocks and Pine Rockland.
<br />Landscape Continuing Services Contract, Florida Department of Transportation Hillsborough County, FL. Landscape
<br />Architect. KCI provided comprehensive Landscape Architecture services for the Florida Department of Transportation
<br />(FDOT) District Seven, supporting projects ranging from small push-button improvements to major interchanges and
<br />multi-mile roadway corridors. Services included landscape architectural design, tree relocation plans, irrigation systems,
<br />master planning, long-range cost estimating, and post-design support. Through close coordination with FDOT and local
<br />municipalities, KCI delivered plans, graphics, and specification packages aligned with local maintenance capabilities.
<br />Designs emphasized sustainability, functionality, and long-term viability, incorporating water conservation measures,
<br />biodiversity enhancements, and strategies to minimize impacts on surrounding ecosystems.
<br />Duvall Field Park, City of College Park. College Park, MD. Staff Team. KCI provided landscape architectural and
<br />civil engineering services for Duvall Field Park. The seven-acre park is being renovated with both active and passive
<br />recreational amenities as well as enhanced vehicular and pedestrian circulation. Improvements include renovated
<br />natural turf athletic fields and ball diamonds, playgrounds for ages2-5 and 5-12, multi-purpose sports courts (pickleball,
<br />volleyball), a picnic pavilion, comfort stations, exercise stations, a stage area with lawn seating for public gatherings, a
<br />storage building, LED parking lot and field lighting and landscaping improvements. KCI prepared stormwater management,
<br />grading, erosion and sediment control, environmental plans (NRI, Forest Conservation, Floodplain) and irrigation plans..
