The project also included two MSE walls, 3,000 LF of roadway widening <br />and drainage improvements. <br />General Superintendent, 12th Avenue Bascule Bridge, FDOT, District 6, Miami, FL, $63 million <br />Nick's duties as General Superintendent included reviewing all work plans, coordinating all crews/ <br />equipment between disciplines, managing 90 -day schedules to ensure on -time completion. In addition, <br />he was ultimately responsible for safety, quality and cost. This project required the demolition and <br />construction of a six -lane bascule bridge over the environmentally sensitive Miami River. A significant <br />component of the Miami Riverfront revitalization, the project was built in six phases during 930 days. In <br />order to maintain traffic on the existing bridge, the first half (northbound) was constructed downstream of <br />the existing bridge. Once this was complete and operational, traffic was switched to the new structure and <br />the existing structure was demolished, allowing room for the second half of the bridge (southbound). <br />Structures Superintendent, 5th Street Bascule Bridge, FDOT, District 6, Miami, FL, $60 million <br />Nick's role as Structures Superintendent included coordinating all crews /equipment between disciplines, <br />managing 90 -day schedules to ensure on -time completion, as well as being responsible for safety, quality <br />and cost. The project had over 1,350 tons of steel and $3.6 million in machinery components.
