SJ (1 <br /> /� <br /> e <br /> =. \'= City of Sunny Isles Beach <br /> Personnel Policy and Procedure <br /> Policy Name Valid Florida Driver's License Requirement <br /> Policy Number 607:1 (NEW) <br /> Effective Date 5/21/15 <br /> Revision Date(s) <br /> Prepared By, Title Human Resources Director <br /> Approved By, Title City Manager <br /> POLICY: <br /> To provide an official policy pertaining to citywide requirements that an employee <br /> possess and maintain both a valid Florida Driver's License and a satisfactory driving <br /> record when operating a City vehicle. <br /> PROCEDURE: <br /> The liability of an unlicensed driver being involved in an accident while operating a City <br /> vehicle warrants that no employee be permitted to drive a City vehicle without a valid <br /> Florida driver's license. <br /> OBTAINING DRIVERS LICENSE VIOLATION RECORDS: <br /> 1. The Human Resources Department is responsible for obtaining Driver's License <br /> Violation Records as follows: <br /> a. The driver's license records will be reviewed as part of the employment <br /> background check for new hires by the Human Resources Department. <br /> b. The driver's license record will be reviewed when an employee is transferred, <br /> promoted or advanced to a new position which requires operating a City <br /> vehicle. This process will be conducted either: <br /> • Prior to selection so that the driving record is a consideration in the <br /> selection procedure <br /> • Prior to the time the employee begins operating a City vehicle. <br /> c. The driver's license records will be reviewed on a continuing basis for <br /> employees permitted to operate a city vehicle. <br /> Policy 607:1 —Valid Florida Driver's License Page 1 of 2 <br />
