<br />Tom manages TLC's Communications & Technology Division,
<br />supporting architects and owners on 'the fourth utility' - fire alarm,
<br />security, voice/data and audio/visual systems - bringing buildings
<br />to life and enhancing life safety and communications in the 21st
<br />century. Technology is constantly changing in these critically
<br />important building systems and Tom's group is well versed in the
<br />latest technologies and systems and helps identify the most
<br />appropriate systems when planning for a renovation or new
<br />facility. Tom is a frequent contributor to industry and trade
<br />publications and has been a featured speaker at numerous
<br />seminars and conferences. Selected relevant projects include:

<br />Dorothy Lumley Melrose Center at Orlando Library, Orlando,
<br />Florida
<br />Design of a newly renovated 20,000 sf technology center located
<br />in the downtown Orlando Library. The center will include services
<br />such as a complete professional audio studio, a broadcast quality
<br />video recording studio with Green Screen, multiple interactive
<br />collaboration areas, a video teleconference capable conference
<br />room, a fabrication laboratory utilizing the latest 3D printing
<br />technology, a simulation lab where patrons can drive, fly, or
<br />operate heavy machinery without leaving the library. $2.5 million /
<br />20,000 sf

<br />Boca Raton Downtown Library, Boca Raton, Florida
<br />New "Green" library with areas for collections, 70 public access
<br />computers, patron seating, employee workspace and public
<br />amenities including coffee bar, bookstore and a 200-seat multi-
<br />purpose meeting room. Extensive charrettes involving the
<br />community and library staff preceded the programming. Certified
<br />LEED NC 2009 Silver. $10 million / 40,000 sf

<br />Jacksonville Main Public Library, Jacksonville, Florida
<br />New four-story public library includes conference center, cafes,
<br />garden courtyard, and 600-space parking garage. Project
<br />included: voice/data distribution design for the building;
<br />audio/visual presentation design for special classroom, meeting
<br />rooms, conference room, training centers, teen services,
<br />children's department and theater, auditorium, laboratories, work
<br />rooms, and administrative areas; and security access control,
<br />CCTV monitoring, intrusion detection and asset protection. Also
<br />developed technology master plan. $64 million construction /
<br />300,000 sf

<br />University of Central Florida Morgridge International Reading
<br />Center, Orlando, Florida
<br />Low-rise literacy and learning center located on the main campus
<br />including classrooms, labs, offices, an auditorium and an atrium.
