Quality Control <br />Design and Preconstruction <br />Quality Assurance is integral in every <br />project phase. Primary responsibility for <br />planning, executing, coordinating, and <br />reviewing the design work will reside <br />with the Preconstruction Manager. The <br />Preconstruction Manager will be responsible <br />for: <br />• Establishing the scope and frequency <br />of reviews required on the project. <br />• Evaluating the ability of the deliverables <br />to meet contract requirements and <br />identify issues and corrective actions, <br />as well as identifying reviews and <br />developing a review schedule at <br />suitable stages. <br />• Ensuring that technical review and <br />checking of work is completed by all <br />team members. <br />• Recording and maintaining records <br />of reviews and subsequent actions <br />determined necessary as a permanent <br />record of the project. <br />For projects that require multi-disciplinary <br />coordination between technical specialties <br />and outside consultants, each participating <br />discipline or outside consultant will be fully <br />responsible for reviewing and checking <br />the technical accuracy of their work. The <br />Preconstruction Manager will be responsible <br />for ensuring that the work of participating <br />team members is properly coordinated <br />and appropriate review and checking <br />procedures have been followed. <br />Review of work at the technical discipline <br />level is the responsibility of the project <br />technical leads. All project deliverables <br />including computations, drawings, <br />specifications, cost estimates, reports, etc. <br />will be checked, initialed, and dated by the <br />technical lead prior to submittal. <br /> <br />Records will be kept to verify that checking <br />has been performed and to validate <br />that the documents comply with project <br />requirements, including: <br />• Completed checklists and forms. <br />• Review drawings or “check sets” with <br />handwritten initials and dates indicating <br />that corrections have been made and <br />back checked. <br />• “Checked” blocks with hand written <br />initials and dates on computation <br />sheets, cost estimates, and drawings. <br />Copies of the checked deliverables are <br />reviewed by the Project Manager and <br />provided to the Technical Director to <br />verify and document that such review <br />was completed. Work will be reviewed in <br />accordance with the following criteria: <br />• Compliance with Sunny Isles’ standards <br />and requirements. <br />• Professional technical standards, <br />regulations, and codes. <br />• The Hensel Phelps discipline quality <br />control manuals.
