We accomplish this by having construction management, design management, and major subcontractor management, in conjunction with Sunny Isles, review the identified risks. By collecting the diversity of approaches these professionals bring to the process, Sunny Isles is ensured that the team examines the risks from all angles, and formulates a unified solution. Hensel Phelps’ Risk Management Tool is comprised of three separate sections: Risk Management During Pre-Award / Procurement: As the procurement team develops a proposal, risks are identified. In order to track the status of these risks, the Risk Management Tool is developed. The development and updating of the Risk Management Tool during the procurement is vital to laying the foundation for successful risk mitigation. The Risk Management Tool includes all key risks identified during the proposal period and the actions taken to mitigate these risks. The Risk Management Tool is routinely reviewed to ensure that the risks are being mitigated. Risk Management during Preconstruction/ Design Development: Throughout this procurement, Project Manager Matthew Wilson will be responsible for identifying potential challenges that may arise on each project. He will be responsible for creating and updating the Risk Management Tool for new risks identified and mitigated during the design development and preconstruction phase. Hensel Phelps will review the Risk Management Tool on a weekly basis to ensure that the design development is managed such that these identified risks are successfully mitigated and resolved. Risk Management During Construction: Any risk items not fully mitigated during the Preconstruction / Design Development Phase are carried over to the Construction Phase Risk Management Tool. Project Manager Matthew Wilson will continue to be responsible for updating the Risk Management Tool during the Construction Phase of the project. The Risk Management Tool is reviewed on a regular basis, but at a minimum it will be reviewed monthly to ensure any unresolved risks are being properly projected.
