12
reflection process. In preparation we will undertake a SWOT analysis. This meeting will include
creative techniques using story circles and acts of performance led by our community
engagement facilitator. Steering Committee members will review the draft spirit and character
report (See Task 2), craft a vision statement, and focus on prospective thematic strategies for
the future of the District.
Deliverables:
Site Visit #3 – three days; Steering Committee Meeting #2
Public Forum Summary, including Youth Project
Online Survey Results
SWOT Analysis
Draft Vision Statement and Strategic Themes
Review of Marketing and Outreach Activities

Task Four – Creative Economy Profile (Optional – See Budget)

Our consultant team has national and cutting edge expertise in identifying and
measuring the economic value of creative enterprises and creative workers across all
businesses – within a locale and in comparison to other communities across the nation. Given
the interest in integrating the creative life of Sunny Isles Beach across all aspects of civic life to
include the engagement of all residents, we propose taking a wider look at the creative sector
of Sunny Isles Beach. To that end and in consultation with the City personnel, we will prepare a
profile of the nonprofit, independent and for profit enterprises and workers in Sunny Isles
Beach. Our activities to produce this creative economic profile will be:
• Review Americans for the Arts’ economic impact database to see what can be learned
from Miami-‐Dade County reports and those communities similar to Sunny Isles Beach.
• Develop a profile of creative businesses and workers in the City. We will need to work
closely with the Steering Committee to identify creative contacts.
o Develop and conduct a targeted online survey to understand the assets, interests
and opportunities of the creative businesses and workers in Sunny Isles Beach
and in the neighboring area
