13
o Conduct a Creative Sector meeting to undertake a SWOT, develop a vision
framework, and discuss strategic priorities for growing a sustainable, vibrant
creative economy in the City (Site Visit #3).
While we believe this will add significant value to a generating a successful community
strategy for the arts, culture and creative sector, this can be considered an optional activity.
Deliverable:
Creative Economy Profile

Task Five – Resource Assessment and Best Practices Review

The purpose of this task is to identify how the cultural sector is currently being
supported throughout the City, what additional supports would be useful and what can be
learned from other communities. The consultant team will work with the local project manager
and the Steering Committee to identify all of the financial, educational and government support
services and programs serving the creative/cultural sector. This will include, but will not be
limited to, reviewing the financial and human resources from cultural grants, public art
programs, historic/heritage programs, arts education programs and the interface with current
cultural development projects. We will review the partnership of the City and the Foundation to
understand the current working relationship and explore opportunities for further strategic
development in implementing the new arts and culture master plan. This will include examining
the Art in Public Places program. In addition, we will review with the City and Foundation
additional partnerships, alliances and potentially new support structures for sustaining the
growth of the cultural and creative sector of Sunny Isles Beach.
As part of this task, we will undertake a review of best practices -‐ other issues, trends
and/or models that could be relevant to the process of Sunny Isles Beach. We will summarize
useful information for this process and implementation of the master plan.
Deliverables:
Resource Assessment Report
Review of Best Practices
