Summary Minutes: Regular City Commission Meeting September 17, 2015 City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida <br />8. PUBLIC HEARINGS (Other than Ordinances for Second Reading) <br />None <br />9. ORDINANCES FOR SECOND READING (Public Hearings) <br />Sitting in as the Local Planning Agency and the City Commission, to Consider the <br />Following Ordinances Amending the Land Development Regulations (LDRs): <br />9A. A Resolution of the Local Planning Agency of the City of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida, <br />Recommending to the City Commission of Sunny Isles Beach, the Ordinance Amending <br />Section 265 -46 of the City Code to Clarify that Off - Street Loading Spaces Shall be Required <br />for All Commercial and Office Buildings: Providing for an Effective Date. <br />Action: [City Clerk's Note: Items 9A and 9A.1 ix,ere heard together.] City Clerk Hines read <br />the title, and Planning and Zoning Administrator Claudia Hasbun reported. <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br />resolution. LPA Resolution No. 2015 -91 was adopted by a vote of 5 -0 in favor. <br />9A.1 An Ordinance of the City Commission of the Cite of Sunny Isles Beach, Florida. Amending <br />Section 265 -46 of the City Code Entitled "Off- Street Parking and Loading Standards" to <br />Clarify that Off - Street Loading Spaces Shall be Required for All Commercial and <br />Office Buildings; Providing for Severability; Providing for Repeal of Conflicting <br />Provisions: Providing for Inclusion in the Code; and Providing for an Effective Date. <br />(First Reading 07/16/15) <br />Action: City Clerk Hines read the title, and Planning and Zoning Administrator Claudia <br />Hasbun reported that we had an exception that if building office was less than 5,000 square <br />feet they did not have to provide a loading area within their property. This will make any <br />office that is less than 5.000 square feet to provide a loading area within their property. <br />Public Speakers: None <br />Commissioner Levin asked why subparagraph (e) was deleted, and Ms. Hasbun said that was <br />to make it consistent, if you have a commercial building then you would not have to add that. <br />Vice Mayor Gatto said she really likes this Ordinance. and she thanked Commissioner Aelion <br />for spearheading it. Mayor Scholl said we had an issue with trucks stopping on Collins <br />Avenue and other streets to load and unload, which has been a constant problem for us. <br />Commissioner Aelion said he gives a lot of credit to our Code Enforcement Officers. <br />Commissioner Aelion moved and Vice Mayor Gatto seconded a motion to approve the <br />Ordinance on second reading.
