At the end of the guarantee period, Landscape Architect shall inspect all work for Final <br />Acceptance following written notice of completion from the Contractor, which must be received <br />by the Landscape Architect at least ten calendar days prior to the anticipated date for Final <br />Inspection. <br /> <br />G. Upon completion and re-inspection of full repairs or replacements deemed necessary by the <br />Landscape Architect at that time, the Landscape Architect shall recommend to the Owner that <br />Final Acceptance of the work of this Section be given. <br /> <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br /> <br />2.01 <br /> <br /> A. Except as otherwise specified, all plant material shall conform to FDACS Grades and Standards <br />for Nursery Plants, 1998. <br /> <br /> B. Plant material shall be Florida No. 1 quality or better. Plants shall have outstanding form; <br />symmetrical, heavily branched with an even branch distribution, densely foliated and/or budded, <br />and a strong, straight, distinct leader where this is a characteristic of the species. Plants shall <br />possess a normal balance between height and spread. Rootball size shall meet the requirements <br />specified for a Grade No. 1 specimen. The Landscape Architect shall be the final arbiter of the <br />acceptability of plant form. <br /> <br /> C. Plants shall be healthy and vigorous, and free of disease, insects and pests and their eggs, and <br />larvae. <br /> <br /> D. Plants shall have a well developed fibrous root system. <br /> <br /> E. Plants shall be free of physical damage such as scrapes, broken or split branches, scars, bark <br />abrasions, sunscalds, fresh limb cuts, disfiguring knots, or other defects. <br /> <br /> F. Plants shall meet the size requirements indicated on the plant list. Plants larger or smaller than <br />specified may be used only if accepted by the Landscape Architect. <br /> <br /> G. Where a caliper or size range is specified, at least 50% of the material shall be closer to the top of <br />the range stated. <br /> <br /> H. Plants shall not be pruned before or after delivery, except as required to correct minor damage <br />incurred during handling. <br /> <br /> I. Plants indicated as "B&B" shall be balled and burlapped. <br /> 1. Unless otherwise permitted by the Landscape Architect plants shall be nursery grown, not <br />collected. <br /> 2. Plants shall be grown for at least two years under climatic conditions similar to those in <br />the locale of the project. <br /> 3. Nursery grown plants shall be properly root-pruned and freshly dug. No healed in plants <br />or plants from cold storage will be accepted unless otherwise permitted by the Landscape <br />Architect. <br /> <br /> J. Container grown plants shall be well rooted and established in the container in which they are <br />growing. They shall have grown in the container for a sufficient length of time for the root system <br />to hold the planting medium when taken from the container, but not long enough to become root <br />bound. Container grown plants exceeding the sizes indicated in ANSI Z60.1 shall have containers <br />which are not less than 75% of the ball sizes for comparable B&B plant material. Circling roots <br />shall be severed or spread apart when the specimen is planted. Each container plant shall be <br />inspected and root pruned as needed. <br /> <br />PLANTS:
