SAMSON OCEANFRONT PARK <br />CITY OF SUNNY ISLES <br />TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS <br /> <br />CONCRETE REPAIRS 03732-4 <br />E. Inspect the completed installation with the Owner and Engineer to confirm that the hurricane <br />shutter and sliding glass door appearance and operation are the same as prior to the Work. <br /> <br />F. Repair any damage to the hurricane shutters, sliding glass doors, frames, tracks and apartment <br />floor, wall and/or ceiling finishes caused by the Work at no cost to the Owner. <br /> <br />3.03 PREPARATION -SPALL REPAIR: <br /> <br /> <br />A. Clean concrete surfaces of dirt, laitance, corrosion, or other contamination; sandblast; rinse surface <br />and allow to dry. <br /> <br />B. Remove deteriorated or unsound concrete by chipping hammer where directed by the Engineer. <br />Removal of concrete shall extend 2" to 4" beyond the outer boundary mark of unsound concrete. <br />Areas removed shall be rectangular shaped. <br /> <br />C. The edges of the patch area shall be perpendicular or slightly undercut between 3/8" and 1/2'1 <br />deep. Feather edges will not be permitted. <br /> <br />D. Concrete shall be removed completely around exposed corroded reinforcing steel such that a 3/4" <br />clearance from the existing concrete is obtained. <br /> <br />E. Removal of concrete shall be performed by using chipping hammers not in excess of 3O-lb. rating. <br /> <br />F. Remove loose concrete from the patch area and leave said area boom clean. <br /> <br />G. Sandblast to clean the exposed reinforcement steel surfaces. Mechanically cut away damaged <br />portions of bar. <br /> <br />H. Apply brush coating of rust-inhibitive coating to exposed reinforcement steel. <br /> <br />3.04 PREPARATION -CRACK REPAIR: <br /> <br /> <br />A. Flush out cracks and voids with water to remove laitance and dirt. <br /> <br />B. Provide temporary entry ports spaced to accomplish movement of fluids between ports; no deeper <br />than the depth of the crack to be filled or port size diameter no greater than the thickness of the <br />crack. Provide temporary seal at concrete surface to prevent leakage of adhesive. <br /> <br />3.05 <br /> <br />REPAIR WORK: <br />A. Repair exposed structural cracks of concrete by the epoxy injection method. B. Repair spalling. <br />Fill voids flush with surface. <br /> <br />B. Repair reinforcement as directed by Engineer. <br /> <br />C. Apply painted or painted stucco finish to match adjacent surfaces. <br /> <br />3.06 <br /> <br />INJECTION- EPOXY RESIN ADHESIVE:
