Samson Oceanfront Park <br />City of Sunny Isles <br />Technical Specifications <br />LIMEROCK BASE COURSE 02502-2 <br /> <br />1. Power rollers shall be self-propelled, 3-wheel, or tandem-type with wheels equipped with <br />adjustable scrapers. <br /> <br />2. Weight shall not be less than eight tons. <br /> <br />C. Tamping Rollers: <br /> <br />1. Tamping rollers shall consist of one (1) or more units arranged to adapt to uneven ground <br />surfaces. <br /> <br />2. Rolling units of multiple types shall be pivoted on the main frame. <br /> <br />3. When fully loaded, rollers shall exert at least 300 psi on the combined areas of tamping <br />feet in contact with the ground. <br /> <br />4. Each unit shall be equipped with a watertight cylindrical drum with a length of 48inches <br />or greater. <br /> <br />5. Tamping feet shall project not less than seven inches from drum surface, with feet spaced <br />not less than ten inches nor more than ten inches measured diagonally from center to <br />center. <br /> <br />D. Rubber-Tired Rollers: <br /> <br />1. Rubber-tire rollers shall consist of two (2) axles on which are mounted not less than nine <br />pneumatic-tired wheels, mounted so the rear group of tires do not follow in the tracks of <br />the forward wheels, but will be centered between the forward wheels. <br /> <br />2. The axles shall be mounted in a rigid frame provided with a loading platform or body <br />suitable for ballast loading. <br /> <br />3. The tires shall be inflated uniformly. <br /> <br />4. The rubber-tire roller may be self-propelled or may be towed with pneumatic-tired <br />tractors or other pneumatic-tired equipment. <br /> <br />E. Blade Graders shall be self-propelled with a wheelbase of not less than 15 feet and a blade of not <br />less than ten feet. <br /> <br />F. Sprinkling equipment shall consist of tank trucks, pressure distributors, or other similar equipment <br />designed to apply water uniformly and in controlled quantities to a variable width of surface. <br /> <br />G. Hauling equipment shall consist of pneumatic-tired vehicles and dump bodies suitable for <br />dumping materials in windrows or layers on the subgrade. <br /> <br />H. Tampers shall be mechanical (of an approved type) and hand-operated, weight shall not be less <br />than 50lbs, and have a face area of not more than 100 square inches. <br /> <br />I. Miscellaneous equipment shall consist of scarifiers, tractors, spring-tooth harrows, windrow <br />equalizers, spreaders, and other equipment suitable for construction of select material base course. <br /> <br /> <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br /> <br />3.01 GENERAL REQUIREMENTS:
