The subgrade soils should be <br />compacted to a minimum of 98 percent of the Modified Proctor maximum dry density (ASTM D-1557). <br /> <br />A vapor retarder is required by the Florida Building Code in air conditioned spaces: Where installed <br />beneath the slab, dampproofing shall consist of not less than 6-mil [0.006 inch; (0.152 mm)] polyethylene <br />with joints lapped not less than 6 inches (152 mm), or other approved methods or materials. We recommend <br />the vapor retarder be at least 15-mil in thickness and conform to the requirements of ASTM E 1745, Class A. <br /> <br />
