<br />02050 - 2/3 <br />1. The CONTRACTOR shall conduct operations and the removal of debris to <br />ensure minimum interference with existing access roads and other adjacent <br />occupied or used facilities. <br />2. Do not close, block or otherwise obstruct access roads or other occupied or <br />used facilities without permission from the ENGINEER. <br />G. The CONTRACTOR shall promptly repair damages caused to adjacent facilities by <br />demolition operations at no cost to the ENGINEER. <br />1.07 CERTIFICATIONS AND TESTING: (Not Used) <br />1.08 INSPECTION COORDINATION: The CONTRACTOR shall provide access to the WORK <br />for the ENGINEER as requested for inspection. The Contractor shall provide 48 hours <br />notice of its intention to begin new WORK activities. <br />1.09 WARRANTY: (Not Used) <br />PART 2 - PRODUCTS <br />2.01 SALVAGE MATERIALS: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall salvage and store the following material: <br />1. Water meters. <br />2. Other materials and equipment as directed by the CITY. <br />3. The CONTRACTOR shall use extreme care not to damage the equipment and <br />material during their removal and replacement. <br />4. Salvage material shall be transferred to City Facilities as directed by the City. <br />PART 3 - EXECUTION <br />3.01 DEMOLITION: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall provide services for effective air and water pollution <br />controls as required by local authorities having jurisdiction. <br />B. If hazardous materials are found, the contractor shall notify the ENGINEER <br />immediately. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall completely backfill below-grade areas and voids resulting <br />from demolition work. The CONTRACTOR shall provide fill consisting of approved <br />soil, gravel or sand (free of trash and debris) and compact fill to approximate density <br />of surrounding native soil. <br />3.02 DISPOSAL OF DEMOLISHED MATERIALS: <br />A. The CONTRACTOR shall remove debris, rubbish, and other materials resulting from <br />demolition operations. <br />B. If hazardous materials are encountered during demolition operations, the <br />CONTRACTOR shall comply with applicable regulations, laws, and ordinances <br />concerning removal, handling, and protection against exposure or environmental <br />pollution. <br />C. The CONTRACTOR shall transport materials removed during demolition activities <br />and properly dispose of them at an approved site according to the State, Federal, <br />and local regulations.
