� -r <br /> • <br /> • <br /> o <br /> !`-.ARISOL MEDINA, GIS Technical Leader <br /> Water Distribution Optimization Project,Puerto Rico Aqueduct and Sewer Authority(PRASA)-An integrated <br /> approach to water distribution system optimization was developed to study high pressure in the system. <br /> Pressures are regulated to an optimum of 30-50 psi by PREPA.The purpose of the first phase of this project <br /> was to reduce pressures to this range in areas of high pressure. This project provided the information to <br /> appropriately regulate pressure in the systems and bring down water consumption, leakages and costs, <br /> provided validated models on H2OMAP Waterm,and set the stage for setting up digital data/control centers <br /> in the regions and central office. The second phase of this project involved the delineation of the sectors <br /> served by a single source of water supply(filtration plant or well).As a GIS Technical Leader she was in charge <br /> of creating standards to ensure a data transfer between the involved departments (Civil Water and GIS) <br /> including the collection of field data.
