E M C E P 1 I O N A l SOLUTIONS
O
®
CGA will proceed to gather all available as-built information for the project area as well as any existing
permit information. In conjunction with this task we will perform a design survey of the project area (as
Onecessary) gathering topographic information, rims and inverts on structures and pipe sizes and materials,
O as well as locating all above ground improvements. We also have available our in-house VaXcavator system,
which can perform underground locates in areas of concern for potential conflicts or where a large number
Oof utilities are crossing. Our Engineering Department can assemble all of this information in CAD drawings
O as a base for the construction documents.
OAt this point CGA can meet with the appropriate governing agencies to discuss concepts. We believe that
O meeting early with these agencies will save a great deal of time and effort in the latter stages of the project.
® Upon reaching a conceptual agreement with the agencies, CGA will meet with its sub-consultants and
® internal team members to further clarify the scope and schedule.
OCGA will incorporate data gained through agency comment into 30% design plans and calculations. These
O plans and calculations will be provided for City review. City comments will then be incorporated into the
Oplans, which will be further developed into 60% documents. CGA will process these plans and calculations
® through an internal review process as well as through City review. The typical CGA internal reviews take
place at 30%, 60%,90%, and 100%complete documents.
O
® After incorporation of the City's 30% comments, CGA will proceed to completion of 60% construction
documents. As with the 30% documents, the 60% construction documents would then be provided to the
O City staff for review and comment.
O We will proceed to 90% construction documents upon incorporation of the City's 60% comments. CGA will
prepare the construction permit applications and supporting documentation at the 90% construction
O document stage to assist Fort Lauderdale with obtaining the construction permits for the improvements
Ofrom the appropriate agencies.
® During this period, CGA will prepare and submit responses to "Requests for Additional Information" (RAI)
O relative to the permitting package submitted. Any comments or additional requirements will be
O incorporated into the design prior to preparing the 100%design documents.
O In addition, CGA will review the project from a "constructability" of design perspective to meet the City's
Ogoals and objectives and to maintain a firm grasp on the costs associated with each project.
® The "constructability" of a design is an important facet to consider during each phase of a design's
O development, however, when a preliminary design is nearing substantial completion (90% plans), it
undergoes an in-house constructability review by our CEI and Construction Management Departments.
OThis review specifically ensures that the plans make sense from a construction perspective, and is intended
® to minimize potential problems in the field during construction.
O We will meet with City Staff to receive their comments on the 90% design submittal. Following the meeting
Oour team will incorporate the City's comments and in addition identify any changes required due to agency
O comment and comments from the CGA constructability review, and make appropriate revisions to the 90%
® design documents. We will then proceed to complete preparation of the contract documents, technical
specifications and bidding documents for the solicitation of competitive bids for the construction of the
Oproject.
O
O
O
RFQ#12-04-02,CMI/Environmental Engineering Page 412
O
