They are expert in the development of concept <br /> ® plans at MPO level, performing alternatives and environmental analyses at the <br /> ® FDOT level, development of long-range transportation plans, transportation <br /> ® modeling, transit-system development and evaluation, traffic-calming <br /> ® evaluation and design, traffic impact and operational analysis, as well as <br /> coordination with approval and permitting agencies such as MDCPW, MPO, <br /> FDOT, MDT, FHWA, FTA, and FAA. • , <br /> ® TRANSPORTATION PLANNING <br /> Transportation ;planning is the first step in the larger transportation project <br /> ® development process, consisting of planning, programming;-design, bidding <br /> ® and construction. Transportation concepts are usually developed and then <br /> tested through initial studies. Cities can do these(themselves but frequently, for <br /> ® projects that may-impact more than one jurisdiction, and may involve federal <br /> ® funds to implement, the Metropolitan Planning OrganizationAMPO) undertakes <br /> ® these efforts through their Unified Planning.Work Program (UPWP). The Corradino <br /> ® Group has worked for years with MPOs -across the nation as their General <br /> ® Planning and Engineering Consultants, performing the initial analyses that come <br /> ® from the UPWP. The Miami-Dade MPO also has a Municipal Grant Program by <br /> ® which it provides funding through a competitive grant process directly to <br /> ® municipalities so that they can undertake these studies themselves.
