This single pump station system involved major utility conflict issues as well as coordination with a • multiplicity of municipalities along the pipeline route.The pipeline included a 3.4 mile subaqueous • crossing of Biscayne Bay.Mr. Ajamil was responsible for obtaining all environmental permits for the • crossing of the Biscayne Bay Aquatic Preserve. • Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department - 201 Plan, Miami, Florida - Project Engineer in the • second update of the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Authority 201 Plan. This update focused on • the construction of pump station and force mains to bring Miami-Dade County's waste water to the • three regional treatment plants already under construction as part of the County's Comprehensive waste Water Master Plan. Mr. Ajamil was responsible for determining pump station flows and • capacity to deal with future growth in the area,and for route selection of the force main.This work • involved extensive site evaluations of all pipeline routes which were subsequently selected for design • and construction. • Waste Water Treatment Plant,Hollywood. Florida-Project Engineer for the design of an extension of • 60"ocean outfall for the City of Hollywood Waste Water Treatment Plant.This extension was required • by the Environmental Protection Agency in order to insure that the discharge plume would not • overshadow a nearby reef.The extension was designed without diffusers since ocean current and density gradients did not provide favorable conditions for effluent dissipation. • • Water and Sewer Department Pump Station No. 33-N, Miami-Dade County, Florida - Principal-in- • Charge of the design of pump station No. 33-P1 for the Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Authority. This major pump station was designed to both collect and repump sewage from several major • distribution areas in the County. • • Comprehensive Water Master Plan, Collier County, Florida - Project Manager and Engineer for the • development of the Comprehensive Water Master Plan for Collier County, Florida.This Master Plan called for the development of water supplies, treatment,storage and distribution for a County that • was expected to grow from a population of 60,000 to close to a quarter million people.The plan also • provided for the start up and development of a water utility by the County which prior to the plan ® Cba > www.bermelloajamil.com 32 •
