Oa Page 2 Project Manager, Copper Uptake in Apple Snails Study, SFWMD— Designed and constructed a 32-square-foot enclosure for the establishment of native vegetation and forage for pomacea paludosa (Florida apple snail). The purpose of the study was to measure copper uptake in snails grown on sedi- ments with elevated copper concentration to assess the potential for impacts to the Everglades snail kite. Project Manager, Picayune Strand Restoration Project (PSRP) Shooting Area Cleanup, SFWMD—Conducted lead removal from I2 spoil piles used for illegal target practice in the PSRP. Lead removal was required prior to con- struction of a pump station by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE).
