University of Venezuela Sanitary and Storm Pump Station Evaluation/
Registrations/Licenses Design and Force Main Analysis
Professional Engineer:
Florida 63042, 2005
a Werner Reinefeld has 25 years of experience in the fields of civil and infrastructure engineering,
project management, design, construction, computer-aided design, and land development.
His experience includes work in the areas of earthworks, road systems, hydrological and
hydraulic studies and modeling, water and wastewater facilities, sewer systems, storm water
J® and drainage, oil-contaminated water, energy efficiency audits, permitting feasibility studies,
proposal preparation, and land development projects.
Mr. Reinefeld's project experience includes:
Force Main Design, Miami-Dade Water and Sewer Department(MDWSD), Miami, FL.
Mr. Reinefeld managed this 3-mile, 60-inch force main project. The scope of work included
preparation of the alternative routes available for the new force main. Scope of services
included coordination with federal, state and county regulatory agencies, local governments,
property owners and stakeholders having interest or potential interest in this project.
Raw Water Main Design, MDWSD, Miami, FL. Miami-Dade County required a new, 72-
inch raw water pipeline(RWP)from the west side of the Florida Turnpike(SR 821)to NW 72nd
Avenue. The proposed RWP will serve as a redundant pipeline to the existing 96-inch raw
water main running along NW 74th Street corridor and will reduce the risk of failure of raw
water supply to the water treatment plants. Mr. Reinefeld led the design team on this project,
which included preparation of BODR-30%, 60%, and 90% submittal, construction documents,
technical specifications, permitting, and construction support.
Groundwater under the Direct Influence (GWUDI) Upgrades to the Hialeah-Preston
t Water Treatment Plant(WTP)and Northwest Wellfields (NWWF), MDWSD, Miami,
FL. Serving as senior design manager, Mr. Reinefeld prepared a conceptual and preliminary
design identifying the scope and extent of the improvements necessary to fully segregate the
NWWF flows from the flows of the other MDWASD source waters that are conveyed to the
1 Hialeah and Preston water treatment plants. Mr. Reinefeld prepared alternatives to convey the
processed water from the NWWF facilities to the existing Preston WTP Reservoirs and assessed
the Hialeah-Preston Reservoir piping interconnection. In total, Mr. Reinefeld designed more
than 4 miles of yard piping ranging 12- to 96-inches for the NWWF treatment facility.
Road and Drainage Improvements at San Marco Island, City of Miami, Miami, FL.
Project engineer for the roadway design and overall drainage design for San Marco Island.
Design responsibilities included basin analysis using the advanced interconnected pond routing
(AdICPR)computer model and regional 4-75 HP storm water pump station design.
Needs Assessment Program, MDWASD, Miami, FL. Mr. Reinefeld served as the project
manager for various water main and force main improvement projects, including:
• Perrine-Cutler Ridge BODR involved 9,000 linear feet(If)of water mains, 1,600 If of force
main, and 6,500 If of sanitary sewer lines. It also included the site selection, dimensioning
and sizing of a regional wastewater pump station. Alternative review and selection was
based on lower cost and system expansion as well as construction phases along US-1.
• New force main from pump station No. 373 to a force main running along NW
196th Lane, which included route selection, pipeline design, lift station upgrades and
construction support services.
