Under Atkins' program management <br /> contract with the City of Miami, Mr. Castro was responsible for all scoping, contractual <br /> I management, review/approval of design decisions, coordination of utilities, permitting liaison <br /> activities, constructability reviews, and public information efforts for various roadway projects. <br /> These projects required coordination with various departments and districts, Miami-Dade <br /> County, and various elected officials. <br /> ICargo Road Extension (Design-Build). Lead technical person of project for the Hillsborough <br /> County Aviation Authority involving design of 1.4 miles of a new four-lane urban arterial. <br /> Responsibilities included pavement design, horizontal and vertical geometry, sidestreet <br /> I intersections, traffic control plans, and coordination of utility design including water and sewer <br /> lines. <br /> 2007 Work Program Update Cycle with FDOT District Seven. Responsible for managing <br /> I over 100 project construction cost estimate updates. Responsibilities included field reviews and <br /> coordination of estimates across various disciplines. <br /> SR 45 (Nebraska Avenue) from Kennedy Boulevard to Hillsborough Avenue, <br /> I Hillsborough County, FL. Under Atkins' general engineering consultant contract with FDOT <br /> District Seven, Mr. Castro served as roadway design engineer for this complex Resurfacing, <br /> Restoration, and Rehabilitation (RRR)in-house project. Project included sections of pavement <br /> reconstruction; storm sewer system improvement; reconstruction of curb, gutter, and sidewalk; <br /> I reconfiguration of four-lane undivided roadway to two-lane divided with both raised median <br /> and bidirectional left turn lane. Project included extensive public involvement and modification <br /> to existing driveways. <br /> I SR 93 (1-75)at Corkscrew Road Interchange, Lee County, FL. Transportation engineer for <br /> this project for FDOT District Seven, involving the design of 1.9 miles of 1-75 and single-point <br /> urban interchange (SPUI)at Corkscrew Road. Responsibilities include plans preparation as well <br /> as assisting in the geometric design, calculation of ramp terminal details, and preparation of <br /> I pavement type selection report. <br /> SR 93 (1-75) Hillsborough/Pasco County Line to Cypress Creek Bridge, Pasco County, <br /> FL. Transportation engineer for this project for FDOT District Seven involving the design of <br /> I 1.2 miles of 1-275 with intersecting area streets.
