<br /> Douglas Ramirez has nine years of experience in engineering, including the structural design of
<br /> 1 Registrations/Licenses a wide variety of projects as well as field experience in performing assessments on hurricane
<br /> Professional Engineer damaged structures. He has worked on a variety of projects which have been designed with
<br /> Florida, 70993, 2010 structural steel, cast-in-place concrete, precast and prestressed concrete, composites, masonry,
<br /> and wood. The clients have included industrial plants, Federal Department of Defense(DoD),
<br /> Professional Affiliations state agencies, school districts, and county governments. Notable projects include the Port
<br /> American Society of Civil Manatee Security Building, Bridgeway Acres Redevelopment, Panama City Beach Aquatic
<br /> Engineers(ASCE) Center, MacDill Air Force Base AGE Facility, and numerous smaller renovations at local Publix
<br /> stores. He has also assisted with the renovation of the Land's End Resort at Captiva Island,
<br /> Florida after the resort was heavily damaged during a hurricane.
<br /> As a structural engineer, Mr. Ramirez works with all disciplines to develop the optimum
<br /> structural design which meets the owner's criteria. Once the structural systems are defined,
<br /> ' he heads the effort to develop all structural calculations, working drawings and specifications,
<br /> taking time to coordinate with other disciplines. Other responsibilities include performing site
<br /> visits and writing reports outlining solutions to structural problems and assessing structural
<br /> conditions at various sites.
<br /> Mr. Ramirez's representative project experience includes:
<br /> Miami-Dade College, Wolfson Campus, FL. Mr. Ramirez performed structural work for
<br /> the new, 8-story Culinary Arts Building at Wolfson Campus. Structural design including pile-
<br /> supported foundations, shearwalls, concrete floors, and roof. He also performed construction
<br /> administration and additional services related to the construction of the facility, which achieved
<br /> Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification.
<br /> Miami Dade College (MDC) Plans Review and Inspection Services, Miami, FL. Mr.
<br /> Ramirez performed as structural engineer, responsible for performing code-related plan reviews
<br /> and inspection services, focusing on structural components, for various projects for all MDC
<br /> campuses. Assignments have included the reroofing project at the Kendall Campus, Building
<br /> 3000, that involved miscellaneous electrical and mechanical work as well as plan reviews;
<br /> renovation of the gymnasium at the North Campus, Building 400, that consisted of reviewing
<br /> the Phase III documents and performing inspections based on the Florida Building Code
<br /> (FBC); plan reviews and code-inspection services for the SET and BURN buildings at the North
<br /> Campus; Computer Center renovations at the Kendall Campus; and Americans with Disabilities
<br /> Act(ADA)compliance plan review and inspection services for the street-crossing project at the
<br /> North Campus.
<br /> Parking Garages Condition Assessment Services, Orlando, FL. Mr. Ramirez performed
<br /> structural inspections and prepared assessment reports for six city-owned parking garages in
<br /> the City of Orlando, including an evaluation of the structural condition of each facility floor by
<br /> floor and area by area. Structural inspection services included evaluation of cracks, spalling,
<br /> exposed steel reinforcement, delamination, deflection concerns, bearing/connector plates,
<br /> coatings, surface wearing and abrasions,joints, interfaces, barrier mechanisms, handrails, stairs,
<br /> and potential contamination. A condition report was prepared documenting the floor-by-
<br /> floor structural findings of concern for each parking structure including a discussion of how all
<br /> identified problems or concerns relate to the service life of each parking garage facility.
