Architecture 13-10 <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> Douglas Ramirez, PE Robert King High Park Recreation Facility Architect-Engineer Services, Miami, FL. <br /> Structural Engineering Mr. Ramirez performed structural design and construction administration services for the new <br /> community center, covered basketball court, and restroom buildings. This project for the City of <br /> Miami involved complete professional architecture-engineer services for the Robert King High <br /> Park Recreation Facility, a new recreation center. <br /> UPC-Wall of Wind-Door Design, Florida International University, Miami, FL. Mr. Ramirez <br /> performed structural work for the Wall of Wind Facility located at the Engineering Campus. <br /> The Wall of Wind is an innovative research tool that provides full-scale structural testing to <br /> determine inherent weaknesses of structures when subjected to hurricane-force winds. It will <br /> revolutionize building construction and retrofitting practices. Mr. Ramirez performed report <br /> writing and analyses of the existing pre-engineered metal building to identify compliance with <br /> project requirements and delineate improvements to the facility. He authored a performance <br /> specification for the installation of sliding steel doors to replace the existing hi-fold door <br /> systems, and created structural design for support of proposed fans and contraction device to <br /> be built within the existing pre-engineered metal building. <br /> Publix Supermarkets Located Throughout South FL. Mr. Ramirez performed structural <br /> work for all remodels at stores including calculations for roof-top equipment and enclosures <br /> as part of Atkins' ongoing comprehensive architectural consulting services to Publix Super <br /> Markets stores and facilities throughout the southeast and west coast regions. The continuing <br /> focus has been to assist Publix with the development and completion of its renovation and <br /> expansion program by providing well-structured design and production program management <br /> services to complete interior design layouts and develop written scopes of work and final <br /> contract documents. Mr. Ramirez also performed post-Hurricanes Katrina and Wilma structural <br /> assessments and report writing for various Publix facilities damaged by the storms, and is on <br /> call for future storm damage with Publix Supermarkets. Task orders include Parking Drainage <br /> services for Publix Store #1345 in Plantation. <br /> Hurricanes Wilma and Katrina Remediation Services, Ft. Lauderdale, FL. This contract <br /> with the City of Fort Lauderdale involved design, engineering, architectural, and project <br /> management services for repairs and renovations to city buildings, facilities, and surrounding <br /> areas that were damaged as a result of Hurricanes of 2005 Katrina and Wilma. Mr. Ramirez <br /> performed structural inspections in order to assist the city with determining solutions for <br /> buildings affected by the hurricanes. Among the facilities potentially damaged by the hurricanes <br /> were the city hall, parks, Floyd Hull Stadium, Las Olas Marina Stations, fire stations, police <br /> stations, pump stations,water and water treatment plants, Las Olas Riverwalk, Southside <br /> School, parking garages and parking lots, swimming hall of fame, community neighborhood <br /> facilities, light poles and signage, street lights and poles, and citywide landscaping. <br /> Beckman Coulter Pedestrian Bridge Structural Assessment Services, Miami, FL. This <br /> project for Beckman-Coulter involved a structural assessment of the condition of the pedestrian <br /> bridge that serves the Beckman-Coulter office complex. Constructed in the mid-1980s, the <br /> pedestrian bridge comprises precast concrete joist members supporting a cast-in-place T-beam <br /> deck and a cazaly hanger. Mr. Ramirez' services included a structural condition assessment <br /> involving a review of all available data pertaining to the bridge design and construction, visual <br /> inspection to assess structural integrity and stability, structural assessment and evaluation <br /> focusing on the integrity of the cazaly hanger, and recommendations for short-term repairs to <br /> maintain the functionality of the pedestrian bridge. <br /> 1 <br /> 1 <br /> 0006.027944.0512 Atkins I City of Sunny Isles Beach, RFC)No. 12-04-02 <br />
