The project development cost was$4 million. • MARITIME EXPERIENCE • Port Miami,Cruise Terminals'D'and'E',Miami,Florida- Project Manager.A/E,planning,design and • post design services for the repairs,upgrades and new construction for Cruise Terminals'D' and 'E'. • Project includes upgrades/new construction for the building envelope systems(including roofing); • horizontal and vertical circulation; connecting passenger boarding bridges (PBB), landside and waterside site development; wharf and berthing improvements; wharf access; intermodal areas: • ancillary roadways;parking facilities;provisioning facilities;comfort stations and increasing restroom • level of services: canopies: wayfinding; life safety; ADA accessibility; operational and security • enhancements including checkpoints;access control; furniture;fixtures:equipment:and all related infrastructure,building and structure work.Mr.Suarez is managing a full design team through design • including LEED certification, construction documents, permitting, commissioning and construction ® administration.This project is a fast track project, • Port of San Diego,Broadway Pier Cruise Ship Terminal,California-Project Manager.This project started • as a temporary terminal facility to be built on one of the oldest existing Navy piers in San Diego with • a minimal construction budget of$6.0 million.The project included vital structural improvements to • the pier deck such as the addition of new mooring hardware and Tendering system.Shortly after the preliminary phases of the project were completed and all the stakeholders were finally in place,the • project expanded into today's program,which culminated in a permanent two storied steel framed • structure with approximately 52.500 square feet in area.The project included the structural seismic • retrofit of the pier in order to meet existing requirements of the region. The design. construction • documentation and permitting phases of services by B&A and the local consulting engineering team was completed in December of 2008.The construction cost for the expanded and approved • program,which supported the first Silver LEED Certificate for a Cruise Ship Terminal at$26.0 million,was • well under the reallocated final budget for the project.The construction was completed November • 2010 and the first use of the facilities as a Terminal was successfully launched on December 2010. • Port Everglades,Cruise Terminal#18- Phase I, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-Project Manager.Once the • design, documentation and permitting phases were completed, this project became a fast-track • construction project in which the Port, the general contractor and the design team collaborated in order to expand the facilities at Terminal #18. Expanding to the North, the task was to convert • approximately 35,000 square feet of raw warehouse space into a much needed additional baggage • area including U.S. Customs and Border Protection Offices which were not originally part of the • program.The project was built within the allocated$6.1 million construction budget and completed • in time to welcome one of Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines' newest vessels in October of 2009. • Port Everglades, Cruise Terminal 19 Interior Renovations, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-Project Manager • for interior refurbishing of a 60,000 square foot cruise terminal to facilitate requirements of a new • cruise line.The completed terminal complied with all county and life safety codes as well as with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).This was a fast-track project. • • Port Everglades, Cruise Terminal 25 Interior Renovations, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-Project Manager • for interior refurbishing of cruise terminal,including addition of 15.000-sf for baggage and a 20,000-sf • Cba > www.bermelloajamil.com • • 55 a
