The project development cost was$4 million. <br /> • MARITIME EXPERIENCE <br /> • Port Miami,Cruise Terminals'D'and'E',Miami,Florida- Project Manager.A/E,planning,design and <br /> • post design services for the repairs,upgrades and new construction for Cruise Terminals'D' and 'E'. <br /> • Project includes upgrades/new construction for the building envelope systems(including roofing); <br /> • horizontal and vertical circulation; connecting passenger boarding bridges (PBB), landside and <br /> waterside site development; wharf and berthing improvements; wharf access; intermodal areas: <br /> • ancillary roadways;parking facilities;provisioning facilities;comfort stations and increasing restroom <br /> • level of services: canopies: wayfinding; life safety; ADA accessibility; operational and security <br /> • enhancements including checkpoints;access control; furniture;fixtures:equipment:and all related <br /> infrastructure,building and structure work.Mr.Suarez is managing a full design team through design <br /> • including LEED certification, construction documents, permitting, commissioning and construction <br /> ® administration.This project is a fast track project, <br /> • Port of San Diego,Broadway Pier Cruise Ship Terminal,California-Project Manager.This project started <br /> • as a temporary terminal facility to be built on one of the oldest existing Navy piers in San Diego with <br /> • a minimal construction budget of$6.0 million.The project included vital structural improvements to <br /> • the pier deck such as the addition of new mooring hardware and Tendering system.Shortly after the <br /> preliminary phases of the project were completed and all the stakeholders were finally in place,the <br /> • <br /> project expanded into today's program,which culminated in a permanent two storied steel framed <br /> • structure with approximately 52.500 square feet in area.The project included the structural seismic <br /> • retrofit of the pier in order to meet existing requirements of the region. The design. construction <br /> • documentation and permitting phases of services by B&A and the local consulting engineering <br /> team was completed in December of 2008.The construction cost for the expanded and approved <br /> • program,which supported the first Silver LEED Certificate for a Cruise Ship Terminal at$26.0 million,was <br /> • well under the reallocated final budget for the project.The construction was completed November <br /> • 2010 and the first use of the facilities as a Terminal was successfully launched on December 2010. <br /> • Port Everglades,Cruise Terminal#18- Phase I, Fort Lauderdale, Florida-Project Manager.Once the <br /> • design, documentation and permitting phases were completed, this project became a fast-track <br /> • construction project in which the Port, the general contractor and the design team collaborated <br /> in order to expand the facilities at Terminal #18.
