• <br /> 0 <br /> ® APPROACH & METHODOLOGY <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • CONTINUING SERVICES CONTRACT APPROACH AND METHODOLOGY <br /> • <br /> • The approach described below will provide a logical and orgonized way to resolve a variety of project <br /> • types that fall under continuing contracts. Although every project will have a specific project approach <br /> • appropriate to the scope of work,the following is a baseline for means of clearly organizing and managing <br /> • a project to ensure the project is executed on time and within budget. <br /> • <br /> • Phase I - Planning, Programming and Schematic Design <br /> • The project approach for Planning, Programming and Schematic Design Phase is broken down into the <br /> • following tasks: <br /> • <br /> • 1.1 Report Collection -The Team will collect all relevant information on the project, in particular: <br /> • • As-built drawings • Inspection reports <br /> • • Entitlement documents (if any) • Current documents with budgets <br /> • • LEED targets • Existing Utility information <br /> • <br /> • 1.2 Base Plan - Create a comprehensive Site Plan to include all existing buildings, site utilities, existing <br /> • equipment and infrastructure, drainage, etc. Conduct field investigations, topographical surveys <br /> • and research available record drawings. <br /> • <br /> • 1.3 Kick-Off - The Team will attend a kick-off meeting at the City of Sunny Isles Beach. Key points to <br /> • be addressed: <br /> • <br /> • • Review the objectives and criteria for the project with City staff. <br /> • • Designate responsibilities of each consultant on the design team. <br /> • • Establish a planning schedule. <br /> • • Discuss funding, budget and critical associated grant timeline. <br /> • • Program Development; existing renovation, expansion or new construction <br /> • <br /> • 1.4 Site Inspection -The Team will tour the project site and conduct a one-day work session with <br /> • City staff and other key parties. The team will participate in a site inspection of the existing <br /> • facilities for the design to proceed. <br /> • <br /> • 1.5 Schedule - B&A will develop a preliminary detailed project schedule. <br /> • <br /> • 1.6 Due Diligence / Existing Facility Report- A report will be prepared that analyzes existing facilities. <br /> 0 <br /> • • Data Collection • Evaluation of the existing site <br /> • • Site lighting • Evaluation of the existing exterior Shell / building envelope <br /> • • Evaluation of the existing structure • Evaluation of the existing interior floor plan, layout <br /> • • Sprinkler/ Fire Protection System • Plumbing / Pump Rooms <br /> • • Electrical • Assessment Report <br /> • • Evaluation of the existing Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection Systems <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • <br /> • Cba CONTINUING PROFESSIONAL ARCHITECTURAL& ENGINEERING SERVICES FIRMS ONLY(CCNA) <br /> • RFQ No. 12-04-02 59 <br />
