We also conducted traffic concurrency and transportation planning
analyses for County submittals, as well as developments of regional impact.
® Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering, and Transportation Planning Services, The Villages, FL— Kimley-
® Horn is providing traffic engineering and transportation planning services on an ongoing basis at The Villages,
® a retirement community consisting of more than 22,000 acres of land in Lake, Sumter, and Marion counties. The
® Villages is currently going through its seventh development of regional impact (DRI) submittal review, and we have
completed the traffic analyses for the last four DRIs. In addition to the DRI analyses, we have performed a variety
® of consulting services, including transportation modeling, origin-destination studies, access management studies,
• signal warrant studies, signal design, monitoring and modeling studies, interchange justification studies, traffic
® counts, miscellaneous conceptual planning, construction traffic studies, golf cart bridge design/inspection, and
roadway design.
® Parkland Neighborhood Traffic Study, Parkland, FL— Kimley-Horn performed a neighborhood traffic study
for the Ternbridge residential neighborhood in Parkland. To address speeding issues on residential streets, traffic
® volume and speed data was collected, as well as several site visits made to observe traffic characteristics in the
neighborhood. Traffic calming measures, including speed humps and center island medians, were recommended
to reduce residential street speeds. Working with the residents, representatives of the Ternbridge Homeowners
® Association, and the property management company, a neighborhood traffic calming plan was recommended for
® the Ternbridge neighborhood.
® Ongoing Traffic Engineering Consultant, Greenacres, FL— Project manager in charge of traffic engineering
® consultation services, including traffic impact analysis reviews, signalization, signing and pavement marking,
® and transportation planning. Also providing traffic and transportation input to the Planning and Zoning Board and
the City Commission for traffic operation issues, proposed development site plans, rezonings, and zoning text
® amendments.
® Transportation Consultant, Okeechobee County, FL—Currently serving as transportation consultant developing
concurrency methodologies, traffic count databases, and short- and long-range transportation plan updates.
• Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard Constrained Roadway at Lower Level of Service (CRALLS) Application, West
• Palm Beach, FL— Modified the WPBUSA FSUTMS planning model to determine the impacts of a proposed
® CRALLS for Palm Beach Lakes Boulevard. The approved CRALLS subsequently allowed several developments in
the revitalized area and incorporated new urban design elements on these properties.
® Transportation Element of Comprehensive Plan, North Miami, FL— Kimley-Horn has prepared both a Regional
activity center traffic analysis and a transportation concurrency exception area analysis for a 200-acre, high-density
® residential project in the City of North Miami. In addition to these concurrency studies, Kimley-Horn prepared
® a traffic calming plan for NE 151st Street. The developer, in partnership with the City of North Miami, desired to
® reduce traffic speeds on the City-maintained roadway leading into the Florida International University campus.
An elementary/middle school and high school are planned for the area as well, thus reinforcing the need to
• calm vehicular traffic using NE 151st Street. The "key" traffic calming measure of this plan included a proposed
• roundabout to replace a 90-degree horizontal curve. Several raised intersections were proposed to further enhance
the roadway and reduce speeds. The cross-section of the proposed roadway in the submitted plan included both
® bicycle lanes and a shared "wheels and heels" pathway to support pedestrian and other non-vehicular traffic
through the area.
•
•
0 FIFO No.12-04-02 Pr I=^ IGmley-Horn
OY300314.12o Sunny Isles!SE Services resumesincid I\ r 1 and Associates Inc.
3-27
