The planning process included workshops with business owners and residents of the adjacent neighborhoods. The plan <br /> ® included the development of phase one master plans based on the immediate needs and desires of the community. Elements of <br /> • the plan include the addition of landscaped medians, decorative pedestrian crosswalks and entry features and signs identifying the <br /> ® corridor. <br /> ® PARKS AND PUBLIC BUILDINGS <br /> Lake Worth Beach Redevelopment, Lake Worth, FL—Quality control reviewer for landscape plans for the redevelopment of the <br /> ® public beach site. Our team also assisted in developing graphics and cost estimates that were instrumental in securing a new <br /> • interlocal agreement with Palm Beach County for funding the beach design. The KHA team is also KHA is assisting with LEED <br /> certification of the Casino building. <br /> • <br /> S Neighborhood Transit Center, Coral Springs, FL—Project planner.This project included the creation of a neighborhood transit stop <br /> guidelines for implementation within and proximal to the City's downtown core. The guidelines included the creation of bus bays, <br /> • landscaping, pedestrian facilities, site amenities and parking. <br /> Broward College Campus-wide Master Planning—Quality control reviewer. KHA provided utility planning services at Broward <br /> ® College Central, North, and downtown Fort Lauderdale campuses. The KHA team has provided a compilation of the utility information <br /> O collected from Broward College staff via meetings and existing plans; conducted an overall assessment of conditions and life <br /> expectancy of the respective utilities; assessed the existing utilities (water, sanitary sewer, and drainage) to determine demands and <br /> $ required improvements based on the 5-year and 10-year buildout of the campuses; assisted in phasing and scheduling of utility <br /> improvements; and reviewed and made recommendations for LEED®enhancements. In addition, KHA provided an overall assessment <br /> ® of existing landscape materials, provided recommendations for enhancements, and assisted in providing estimated costs and <br /> budgets for required landscape improvements. We are also assisting in phasing and scheduling of landscape improvements. <br /> • Public Services Building Expansion, Tamarac, FL— Principal in Charge, Landscape Architecture. Provided landscape design for the <br /> ® design/build of the Public Services Campus Expansion. The design included a new entry feature, landscape buffers, and a break area <br /> for staff adjacent to a water feature. <br /> • Indian Riverside Park, Martin County, FL—Project Master Planner for the preparation of a comprehensive master plan of the park. <br /> 0 The plan included preservation of historic properties and a significant archeological site, restoration and enhancement of natural <br /> communities, re-use of existing buildings and the development of new recreational facilities. Phase One included a multipurpose <br /> ® water-side pavilion, picnic areas, a refurbished 300 foot dock in the Indian River Lagoon and other park amenities. The park won a <br /> • Florida ASLA Award of Honor in 2002. <br /> • Halpatiokee Regional Park, Martin County, FL—Project Manager for the preparation of a master plan for this 180-acre park located <br /> adjacent to the environmentally sensitive St. Lucie River. The plan included preservation and enhancement of natural ecological <br /> • communities and the development of new recreational facilities. The park includes a nature center, softball/baseball and soccer <br /> • fields, tennis courts, roller hockey facilities, an overlook of the St. Lucie River, multi-use trails and picnic facilities. <br /> ® Neighborhood Parks Improvement Plan, Wellington, FL—Project Manager for the analysis of 19 neighborhood parks within the <br /> ® Village, creation of design standards for parks improvements,and the preparation of a three-tiered approach to improvements over a <br /> seven-year period. The implementation plan included detailed cost estimates to allow for budgeting yearly improvements during the <br /> C CIP process. <br /> • Parks Improvement Master Plan, Palm Beach Gardens, FL—Project Manager for the analysis of each of the 11 existing parks, <br /> • analysis of each site, facilitation of a city-wide workshop to solicit citizen input regarding needs, and the creation of master sketch <br /> ® plans and cost estimates for each site based on community needs. <br /> • LINEAR PARK DESIGN <br /> • C-13 Canal, Oakland Park, FL—Quality control reviewer of landscape plans for the design and construction of the NW 39th Street <br /> Canal Trail improvements along a portion of the northern and southern banks of the South Florida Water Management District's C-13 <br /> • canal between NW 21st Avenue and NW 29th Avenue, a combined distance of approximately 1.2 miles.
