ARTICLE 8 -- OWNER'S RESPONSIBILITIES <br /> 8.1 COMMUNICATIONS <br /> A. The OWNER shall issue all its communications to the CONTRACTOR through <br /> the ENGINEER OF RECORD. <br /> 8.2 PAYMENTS <br /> A. The OWNER shall make payments to the CONTRACTOR as provided in <br /> Paragraphs 14.5 and 14.8. <br /> 8.3 LANDS, EASEMENTS, AND SURVEYS <br /> A. The OWNER's duties in respect of providing lands and easements and providing <br /> engineering surveys to establish reference points are set forth in Paragraphs 4.1 <br /> and 4.5. The OWNER shall identify and make available to the CONTRACTOR <br /> copies of reports of explorations and tests of subsurface conditions at the site <br /> and in existing structures which have been utilized by the ENGINEER OF <br /> RECORD in preparing the Drawings and Technical Specifications as set forth in <br /> Paragraph 4.2. <br /> 8.4 CHANGE ORDERS <br /> A. The OWNER shall execute Change Orders as indicated in Paragraph 10.1D. <br /> 8.5 INSPECTIONS AND TESTS <br /> A. The OWNER's responsibility in respect of certain inspections, tests, and <br /> approvals is set forth in Paragraph 13.3B. <br /> 8.6 SUSPENSION OF WORK <br /> A. In connection with the OWNER's right to stop Work or suspend Work, see <br /> Paragraphs 13.4 and 15.1. Paragraphs 15.2 and 15.3 deal with the OWNER's <br /> right to terminate services of the CONTRACTOR under certain circumstances. <br /> ARTICLE 9 -- ENGINEER OF RECORD'S AND OWNER REPRESENTATIVE'S STATUS <br /> DURING CONSTRUCTION <br /> 9.1 ENGINEER OF RECORD <br /> A. The ENGINEER OF RECORD will be the OWNER's technical representative <br /> during the construction period. The duties and responsibilities and the limitations <br /> of authority of the ENGINEER OF RECORD during construction are set forth in <br /> the Contract Documents. <br /> 00700- 18/39 <br />
