22. Amend Policy 9C. as follows: <br /> Policy 9C. The City of Sunny Isles Beach shall require energy efficient design in new <br /> construction and redevelopment activities through administration and enforcement of the <br /> Florida Energy Code promote energy conservation,by adopting regulations and providing <br /> incentives to builders, remodelers, and residents to implement Florida Green Building <br /> Coalition, the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) green building <br /> rating system, or other acceptable environmental standards. <br /> 23. Add a new Policy 9D. as follows: <br /> Policy 9D. The City shall investigate incentives for developers and building owners to <br /> incorporate energy efficiency and other conservation measures that meet recognized <br /> green building standards into the design, construction or rehabilitation of their buildings. <br /> 24. Add a new Policy 9E. as follows: <br /> Policy 9E. The City shall seek to improve the climate change resiliency of new and <br /> existing buildings through the inclusion of resilience and adaptation strategies in the Land <br /> Development Regulations and building code by 2020. <br /> 25. Amend Objective 10 as follows: <br /> Objective 10 <br /> Maintain and improve the quality of the beach's natural and man-made environment, <br /> beach access, and ocean view corridors while continuing to i?promote quaky compatible <br /> beachfront development on remaining underutilized parcels that is compatiblc with the <br /> remainder of the City. <br /> 26. Amend Policy 10D. as follows: <br /> Policy 10D. Encourage development that maintains Sunny Isles Beach's support and <br /> accommodation of permanent and seasonal residents and tourists and seasonal <br /> residents east of Collins Avenue with cxpandcd tourism facilities supportive retail and <br /> commercial development west of Collins and along Sunny Isles Boulevard. <br /> 27. Amend Policy 10E. as follows: <br /> Policy 10E. Address erosion, potential climate change effects, and other challenges to <br /> the quality of the beach's natural and man-made environment through the implementation <br /> of beach renourishment, dune restoration, and other programs fin cooperation with Miami- <br /> Dade County, an-el—the State of Florida, implement a beach renourishment and dune <br /> restoration program proximate coastal communities, and other agencies as appropriate. <br /> A-8 <br />
